The Brits and Saturday Night Takeaway
So, in order to look my best on The Brits red carpet I asked my stylist Kelvin to come to my house on the morning of the Brits with many different outfits that might suit me.
Mark and I didn’t get back from skiing till the night before, so I didn’t have the chance to find anything ‘wow’ enough sooner, but fortunately Kelvin pulled it out of the bag,
The blue Barrus jump suit – literally jumped out at me! I loved bold electric blue colour.
It was so eye catching, and I haven’t ever worn anything like it before on a red carpet, so I knew as soon as I put it on that this was the perfect choice for the occasion.
I loved the simple and elegant cut of the jump suit, it felt very comfortable on, however it needed altering ever so slightly to fit my body shape (as you can see from the pins in this picture!)
So while I was getting my hair and makeup done, a talented tailor called Anne came to my house and did all the alterations then and there! Fantastic!
My silver court shoes are from good old Office, loved these heels and they were surprisingly comfy to wear too.
To accessorize I wore a couple of silver rings and some star diamante shaped studs in my ears from http://www.londonroadjewellery.com/ and my very sparkly clutch bag was from Aspinal of London https://www.aspinaloflondon.com
The velvet belt round my waist suited the jumpsuit perfectly and finished the look off to a ‘T’.
With the outfit being very fitted and bright in colour I thought it would be best to keep my hair and makeup quite natural and fresh.
Thanks so much to Hannah Wieteskax for doing my hair and Krystal Dawn for my lovely makeup.
I went for Charlotte Tilbury ‘Browns’ on my eyes, kept my foundation really natural, and Krystal contoured with my favourite all time matte bronzing powder – Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer, https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/uk/en-gb/product/hoola-matte-bronzer
I wore some blue contacts from Mesmereyez to tie my outfit into my makeup I loved having blue eyes for a night! https://www.colouryoureyes.com
I wore this nude Nails Inc nail varnish on my finger nails. https://www.nailsinc.com
These Rodial Pore Shrink Cleansing Pads are great! They got rid of all the excess dirt from my face, and dead skin cells with some light exfoliation. This is good to prep your skin before a big night out as my skin was fresh and healthy looking before I started with putting my makeup on.
Put lip balm on your lips before you start your makeup. This allows around 15 -30 mins for your lips to get nice and moisturized while you are doing your face, so that when you put your lips on – it lasts much longer and doesn’t crack!
I use Rodial lip balm for my lips, I also took this one skiing with me in case they chapped in the cold weather. http://www.rodial.co.uk
The Brits was a brilliant evening. I am pretty lucky as I went the year before as well.
Everyone makes an effort on the red carpet with eye catching outfits. I really liked what Stacey Solomon wore – she wore a white top and a pair of cool shorts, Little Mix’s stage outfits were super sexy, and Katy Perry’s red carpet pink suit was fab too.
Mark and I sat on the ITV table. We loved the evening, especially watching Little Mix and they won best single, which was well deserved.
We enjoyed a salad to start, main was a veggie option for me because I don’t really eat red meat anymore and the main was fillet steak, and the absolutely delicious dessert was a white chocolate and lemon meringue.
Little Mix were fantastic live and I think they are great role models for young girls too.
Other standout performances were Ed Sheeran, Robbie Williams and Katy Perry. Chris Martin’s touching tribute to George Michael was really special too.
Everyone got on their feet after he sung, it was an emotional moment and celebration of one of his most famous songs: ‘A Different Corner’
There were lots of after parties on around London post Brits and we were invited to a couple of them however, we didn’t go to any and went straight home because we had to get back to let the dogs out, and Mark had work the next morning.
Yes people! We live life on the edge!
On the Saturday morning I had an early start for a new fashion photo shoot, as you can see there was a lot of textures and it was a very neutral palette with girly blush pinks thrown in.
There were plenty of accessories (a girl can never have enough earrings to pick from)
We did a lot of different looks, dresses, suits, furs, oversized knits, it was a really fun shoot!
We used these fab Giorgio Armani shimmer glosses for eyes, although they look just like lip glosses.
They are lovely to blend and build up colour without smudging or creasing.
Straight after the shoot I hot footed it over to the Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway Studio, where I was guest announcer for their first show!
It was even more special because my brother Andrew, his friend Anthony and my cousin Kate (who also works on the show!) came to sit in the audience for moral support. Thanks guys!
I was absolutely thrilled to meet Jennifer Hudson, I mean, she is a superstar.
I love her voice and music so meeting her was a real moment. I was lucky enough to be in the studio when she did her sound check for singing her classic ‘Spotlight’ and it was like being at my own personal concert!
Her voice is unbelievable…
I also really enjoyed meeting Jamie Oliver and did a segment in the show with him which was really funny.
It was a great experience for me to be a part of the show.
I wore a dress from my new Lipsy collection for the show, and then afterwards we headed into Shoreditch to help our mate Rob celebrate his 30th.
I decided to get changed after the show, and wore a floral jumpsuit, also from my new Lipsy collection- https://www.lipsy.co.uk/store/michelle-keegan
Must sign off for this week, have to dash off to a dinner with a pal, but have been reviewing lots of products for you all for next week’s blog!
All my love
