Parisian Treasure Hunt At The Flea Market
Marché aux Puces: PARIS
Marche aux Puces is renowned throughout the world for being the largest flea market. It attracts literally millions of antique, vintage and curios lovers. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure and it’s such fun looking.
It is exciting and atmospheric – a bazaar for the bizarre and a blast from the past. Being an avid vintage shopper and designer, the random eccentricities on view set my pulse racing!
Antiques in the flea market boutiques are beautifully presented and treasures of previous generations displayed with exacting order. In contrast, other boutiques are overflowing with vintage and secondhand pieces, trinkets and curios, consuming time as you rummage, never quite knowing what surprises you may come across.
During my trip I found some exquisite Saint Louis glasses – Saint Louis being the oldest glass makers in Europe dating back to 1583. Prices are certainly negotiable and it pays to get your hard bargaining act together to haggle the price. I am extremely happy with my purchase – a very reasonable price paid for such beautiful, timeless cut glass crystal goblets. I will definitely enjoy these sparkly treasures for years to come.
C’est une excellente journée!!
