Hotel Plaza Athénée: Avenue Montaigne Paris
Paris and romance go together like Champagne and oysters and coffee and croissants. When my husband has the idea of visiting Paris, I am always super excited! Being a designer, I am mesmerised by the beauty of the boulevards designed by Georges-Eugene Haussmann. Neoclassical wonders!
There is no better place to stay to take in the essence and beauty of Paris than the fashionable and elegant Hotel Plaza Athénée. This hotel was to be our base. What a treat!
This stunning hotel is located on the ultra stylish Avenue Montaigne – a parade of the most stunning designer haute couture boutiques. The trendy L’Avenue restaurant is but a moment’s walk away. In full view to the right stands the iconic Eiffel Tower for all to see. The hotel is beautifully accented with its red geranium infused balconies – a striking facade to the hotel.
The décor of the hotel is the perfect mix of Louis XVI inspired décor and contemporary Parisian elegance.
For me the pièce de résistance is the truly magnificent breakfast room with its sparkling, twinkling chandeliers. There is an overwhelming beauty and a sense of decadence.
The breakfast menu is extraordinarily indulgent and its variety leaves you more than spoilt for choice. Even the bread basket comes with its own menu.
Having spent a day strolling along the boulevards to visit museums and boutiques, the hotel’s salon is the perfect place to sip tea and eat some delightful sweet delights from the pastry trolley. A time to admire the well suited and booted fashionistas, who gather there or on the outdoor terrace, with its plush red cushions, to chatter and whisper Parisian tales.
The Dior Spa in the basement offers the perfect retreat for some luxurious pampering.
