Gucci Garden Party Dubai : Jungle of Retro Glamour
Gucci has grabbed every fashionista’s attention after its appointment of Alessandro Michele as creative director, transforming the brand into a parade of nostalgic Gucci DNA with a romantic retro twist.
I received an invitation to attend the Gucci Garden party in Dubai.
The first half of the party was held inside the beautiful Gucci boutique inside Emirates Mall.
My outfit for the event was casual and chic with a Korean designed bomber jacket with a cute Mickey Mouse emblem on the back, red flared trousers, with matching satin Sophia Webster shoes, and a red metallic Peonica London Amour bag worn as a clutch.
The Gucci boutique was transformed for the event with a beautiful soft palette of vintage styled flowers, stunning giant embroidered butterflies and glittering giant ladybirds, which surrounded their wonderful collection.
The Gucci bags looked fierce, nestled in between the giant snakes and leopards; the boutique had been created into a garden of mesmerising exotic animals surrounded by this dream Gucci collection!
The bag which stood out for me as the ‘wow’ bag from the boutique was the crocodile autumnal striped Dionysus; oh, how I pine over this bag!
The overall collection had a strong 70’s handwriting to it, with a rainbow of retro colours and ornate embroidery.
My favourite pieces were the stunning Gucci furs; the black feathered peacock coat, just screamed style! I also fell in love with the fluffy sugary pink coat, just the most perfect shade of yumminess.
The party continued at a second venue ‘The Courtyard’ Al Quoz. Wow, what a party! The venue was a rustic floral dream with cool musical beats and delicious cocktails, smelling and feeling like rustic Italy.
Oh Gucci, I do love your retro revival.
