Is Salt Really That Bad?

Time and time again I am meeting people with such a massive aversion to salt. When asked why, they simply say it’s bad for them. Are they right?? Well in essence not really.

Salt

Salt in fact in its natural form is made up of natural crystal salt but with minerals and trace elements which your body needs. The salt that is on a table, in use in chip shops, in fast food outlets & in processed foods is in fact Sodium Chloride, a product of the industry where the minerals and goodness have been removed. This is the salt that is actually not great for your health because there aren’t any elements to go with it. The body is designed to deal with salt alongside the minerals and elements so when Sodium Chloride is eaten alone then it can really overwhelm the body so as it tries to get rid of it, it can produce kidney stones and harmful acids. This can cause water retention leading to higher blood pressure, tissue odema and circulation problems.

The message: Natural salt is needed for the body and is needed as much as water is needed. Steer clear from any table salt, low salt alternatives

What to look for: Himalayan crystal salt or whole unprocessed sea salt.
