Our first Halloween in LA!

It was a fun Halloween in Hollywood! There were parties all weekend and LA takes Halloween seriously so you have to make sure that your costume is on point! My fans know that I always go all out on Halloween, and this year I transformed myself into a Devil! Jay actually did my Halloween make-up; yes my mate actually has some talent! Lol.

We had a blast going out and to be honest I don’t remember a lot of it. For example I am still wondering why Nareesha had a snake wrapped around her, Lol?! All I know is that we were at celebrity blogger Just Jared’s party when it happened.

People expected Nareesha and I to go as a couple, but we had our own ideas for what we wanted to be. The fans did point out that it looked more like Jay and I were the couple, lol.

I think it’s fair to say that we did a good job with our costumes this Halloween, but of course Mylo beat us all!

A lot of drinking and eating this Halloween weekend which means I need to call my personal trainer Christian ASAP to workout. Glad I took sometime to celebrate though because it was a good rest after a long week. Was recording in studio all night this week ending my sessions at 3am. I was also working on different accents with my acting coach. I have nailed down a good New York & Boston accent, can’t wait to have you guys hear it :).

Work hard, play hard! That’s my motto and this week I did it.

Hanging out with The Big Bang Theory guys and gym time!

Hello Beautiful People!

This week I caught up with my mate actor Kunal Nayyar of the famous American TV show The Big Bang theory. I love the show so Kunal invited me on the sets so I could watch him and his colleagues perform live. They were amazing. Their comedic timing is on point. Kunal is a good guy and a great boxing buddy! Special thanks to Kunal for inviting me on the sets of the show.

It was also the festival of lights last week, and around the world people were lighting candles, and setting off fire crackers to celebrate this Hindu, Sikh and Jain holiday. I got a taste of Diwali when I got interviewed over the phone by one of India’s largest newspapers the Hindustan Times. The journalist had to pause while asking questions from time to time because of the noise coming from the firecrackers in the background, lol. What a fun holiday. Happy belated Diwali to those that celebrate!

It was very sad news regarding the passing of the great designer Oscar De La Renta. May he rest in peace. De La Renta once said, “Style Begins by looking good naked”. I truly believe that :). In honor of late inspirational designer I thought I would share some tips with the fellas on how I work hard to look good naked.

Also in an effort to keep up with my fitness and work hard to build even more muscle I joined an amazing fitness center in Los Angeles called The Firm Body Evolution. My trainer Christian is dope and works me hard to build muscle. He also has me on a strict diet. The best part is that after the workout I get to relax in infrared sauna. The healing properties of the sauna are endless. I am already in love with the staff there, how can I not be when they created a welcome package for me on my first day at the center :). Thanks to the Firm Body Evolution team!

Heres me in the infrared Sauna !! You should try it :)

Below are some tips on dieting:

• Eat about 6-8 small healthy meals and snacks a day? Oatmeal and egg whites for breakfast eat lean meats like fish, like salmon, eggs, and vegetables are thinks that you should be eating.

• Each day, strive to eat 3,000(2000 for girls) calories, 300 grams of protein, less than 280 carbs, and less then 80 grams of fat, and as little sugar as possible.

• Get to the gym at least twice as week and exercise and you get lean fast.

Here’s what I eat! broccoli ,eggs ,frozen berries, and small amount of protein.

I know it looks nasty, but once blended it tastes of berries and is great for you.

Gotta get back to the grind. In studio this week with some great producers & working hard on my acting, dialect and vocal classes. Love you all!

Co-hosting with Mario Lopez and my new material

Hi guys ! Another hot! week in LA (seriously does it get hotter than this? Hope all of you are doing well :)

First of all, can we talk about the Football final ?!? (Sorry to all the non- football fans)

I was supporting Argentina with a few friends in the hills and my voice went from shouting so much… grrr not amused. Congrats to Germany though, what a goal!!!

This past Wednesday I co-hosted Extra TV with Mario Lopez. You remember him from Save By The Bell right?! Well he is a huge presenter out here in L.A.

It was a fun day! It’s good to see Mario again – he’s a genuine guy and reminds me of my older brother.

The lights on-set were soooooo bright, I don’t know how Mario does it. (basically I squinted a lot) Also, there were so many fans who came out to watch me on Extra, so thank you so much!#lovetothefans

So you all know that I’m still adjusting to living in L.A so don’t judge me. The other day, it took me about 20 mins to work out how to put petrol in the car. What?! ..They do it differently here! I am a MAN so I didn’t ask anyone for help and that’s why it took me so long and it didn’t help that the station cashier was staring at me so much!… like two laser beams on the back of my head.

You’ll be pleased to know, I’ve been in the studio a lot lately and I’m really excited to show you what I’ve got. It’s gonna be very different to the old stuff but you’re gonna like it. Been working with some great producers so I am very happy!

Obviously there are moments when I miss home but I’ve got Nareesha and Mylo with me so it’s not so bad and also the support on twitter is great so thank you. Also to soften the blow I found an English/Irish imports shop so managed to grab a few food goodies to help fill my stomach with pieces of home ;)

A few of you on twitter have been asking me for a selfie so here it is. And if you would like me to feature anything in my future blogs be sure to add your comments below and I will check them out.

Thanks for reading and Love you all xx

Hanging in Hollywood

Hello again! Another beautiful week in the Hollywood hills – still trying to get used to driving on the right side of the road though, lol!

Apart from the blazing heat (as a former London resident my body’s a little confused) – really love it here! The hiking is scenic and a good workout, and I am getting to see my Hollywood friends more often! I do miss my friends & family in London though, and can you believe they don’t have a Nandos here!!!!!

It’s been a good week for me. I got to catch my friends, the Canadian band Magic! perform at the El Rey Theater. They were wicked!

I also watched the Belgium vs. US game at a pub. Nice to see Americans passionate about football. Can’t wait to see who makes the finals. Who do you think will make it?

This past week was my first 4th of July in America, their Independence Day! Americans usually celebrate by watching fireworks, and indulging in other festivities. I celebrated with my American friends at a pool party. What better way to celebrate!

Looking forward to co-host with Mario Lopez on Extra this week! Be sure to check me out!! Speak again soon. Luv you all!

Ps: Mylo found it hard to adjust to the LA lifestyle – he did a poop in the Beverly Shopping Centre . It was highly embarrassing :/

New beginnings!

Hello my friends, from sunny Los Angeles! I can hardly believe that I’ve been in LA for nearly two weeks now – Mylo is great and absolutely loving the weather…just in case you were wondering about my little guy.

I’m really excited to be blogging for HELLO!, and thought this could be a good way to keep everyone in the know about my new journey – insert (cheesy?) lyric “here I go again on my ownnnn….” thanks for that, Journey.

New start in LA

New start in LA

These past two weeks have been a bit chaotic. The flight over was really tough…we were extremely jet lagged for about three days, but you know me me…I bounced back and made a full recovery. My first weekend here I went hiking in Runyon Canyon – wow! The view was awesome.

I must say, it’s very refreshing to do so many active things out doors and with nature. We’ve also moved in to a new flat (or “apartment” as they say here), and I’ve become an expert furniture assembler and mover.

I’m thinking of opening a part time moving and assembly business…I love it THAT much. No I don’t. LOL. Been catching up with old friends, making some new friends. Hmmm…what else?

Last week I attended The Thirst Project’s annual Thirst Gala, my very first red carpet as an official Los Angeles resident. The Thirst Project is an amazing organisation that brings safe, clean drinking water to people around the world.

I was so shocked to learn that almost 1 billion people on the planet do not have access to safe, clean water, and 4,100 kids under the age of five will die today from drinking dirty water.

Pretty crazy. You guys should definitely get involved. I’ve also been back in the studio doing what I absolutely love…writing and recording. I’m so excited for you to hear what I’m working on. It’s going to be big!

Thirst Project

Thirst Project

Now that you’re pretty much up to date on what I’ve been up to since the big move…I’m going to get a little mushy for a moment.

I thought you deserved to know my final thoughts on “things” with the band. Firstly, each one of you has touched my life and made me a better person each and every day. Please know that this is NOT a goodbye, so put those tears and tissues away!!

We’ve been like family, you and me, but it’s weird because I feel like you’ve only had a small taste of who I am and what I sound like. I was put in a role with the band that I didn’t really like, and it wasn’t easy, because I was prevented from being me and having a voice.

Time to spread my feathers

Time to spread my feathers

Mark Whalberg said it best (yes another cheesy moment) – “The peacock needs to spread its wings and fly” lol — and I plan on doing just that :) So with my next step, and in this next phase, I’m SOOOOOOO excited to show you the other 60% of me that I couldn’t show you.

I’m so thankful for your support and I plan to continue doing what I love, so with this blog you’re gonna read about all of the stuff I’m doing – whether it’s making music, acting, or just sharing my thoughts on life. I’ll be posting every Tuesday, so stay tuned for next week…

Speak next week

Speak next week

This is just the beginning, so hold on tight and I can’t wait to see where we’ll end up next…together. You’ve made my days brighter, and I love you all. Talk again soon!
