Hollywood madness at The Young Hollywood Awards!

Hello beautiful people!

This week was a whole lot of Hollywood madness at The Young Hollywood Awards.

The funny and talented Kelly Osbourne hosted the show where I presented with the lovely and very little Ariel Winter from the TV show, Modern Family. I had to kneel down so I didn’t look like a giant next to her when we were presenting, HA! I think Ariel is fantastic, and an amazing actress, just had to poke fun at my petite friend!

Had a good time catching up with some of Hollywood’s best young actors. Bumped into Matt McGorry from Orange Is The New Black (have you been watching it? Such a funny show) and Kendrick Sampson from Vampire Diaries & Gracepoint.

Also bumped into Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars (such a nice guy) and my old buddy James Maslow from Big Time Rush.

But the biggest VIP of all was the lovely Grace Kesablak, a 10 year old girl from Make-A-Wish. Was amazing to meet this beautiful little girl.

I have to give a special shout-out to my stylist David Thomas, I got a lot of compliments on my outfit. My crazy looking pants fit my crazy personality or at least that’s what Nareesha tells me.

I was supposed to be at the fashion film awards as well this week, but unfortunately I couldn’t make it because it was on the same night. Wish the shows weren’t on the same night! I heard from my friends that it was a fun event.

As usual I had a hectic week, I spent time in the studio, had back to back meetings, and events.

But the best part of the week as always is getting to connect with the fans. Had fun doing so at the Young Hollywood Awards!

I have another exciting week ahead in La La land, and can’t wait to share it with you next week!

See you later

Boxing, videoshoots and waterfalls in LA

Hello Again!!

It’s been a great week in LA.

So this week I have decided to do what LA people do and go train at a boxing club in West Hollywood. It was intense!!! I left the club looking worse for wear while I was greeted by paparazzi. Not the best look but hey at least you all know I’m keeping fit lol.

This is me with Beth Behrs (from Two Broke Girls) and my trainer Martin (no 1. trainer)

Im planning on taking Nareesha with me for boxing next week,  I wonder if she can hack it!

Speaking of the missus, Nareesha and I did a video shoot with People.com. We played a fun UK vs. LA trivia game. You can tell in the video that we love LA, but our hearts are in England. Stay tuned for the video…

The rest of the week was full of back-to-back meetings, projects and studio time, but I did make a point of going to Malibu State Park and checked out the waterfalls and natural landscape. All I know is I should have worn more suitable clothes because it was hot!!! (The black jeans were a mistake…durrr)

Sadly we couldn’t take Mylo on the trek but it’s okay he doesn’t mind too much. That dog needs a hair cut big time and the American food is giving him a belly! I’ve got to walk him three times a day lol.

Anyway gotta get back to the LA madness, but will catch up next week.

See you next week!

Co-hosting with Mario Lopez and my new material

Hi guys ! Another hot! week in LA (seriously does it get hotter than this? Hope all of you are doing well :)

First of all, can we talk about the Football final ?!? (Sorry to all the non- football fans)

I was supporting Argentina with a few friends in the hills and my voice went from shouting so much… grrr not amused. Congrats to Germany though, what a goal!!!

This past Wednesday I co-hosted Extra TV with Mario Lopez. You remember him from Save By The Bell right?! Well he is a huge presenter out here in L.A.

It was a fun day! It’s good to see Mario again – he’s a genuine guy and reminds me of my older brother.

The lights on-set were soooooo bright, I don’t know how Mario does it. (basically I squinted a lot) Also, there were so many fans who came out to watch me on Extra, so thank you so much!#lovetothefans

So you all know that I’m still adjusting to living in L.A so don’t judge me. The other day, it took me about 20 mins to work out how to put petrol in the car. What?! ..They do it differently here! I am a MAN so I didn’t ask anyone for help and that’s why it took me so long and it didn’t help that the station cashier was staring at me so much!… like two laser beams on the back of my head.

You’ll be pleased to know, I’ve been in the studio a lot lately and I’m really excited to show you what I’ve got. It’s gonna be very different to the old stuff but you’re gonna like it. Been working with some great producers so I am very happy!

Obviously there are moments when I miss home but I’ve got Nareesha and Mylo with me so it’s not so bad and also the support on twitter is great so thank you. Also to soften the blow I found an English/Irish imports shop so managed to grab a few food goodies to help fill my stomach with pieces of home ;)

A few of you on twitter have been asking me for a selfie so here it is. And if you would like me to feature anything in my future blogs be sure to add your comments below and I will check them out.

Thanks for reading and Love you all xx

Hanging in Hollywood

Hello again! Another beautiful week in the Hollywood hills – still trying to get used to driving on the right side of the road though, lol!

Apart from the blazing heat (as a former London resident my body’s a little confused) – really love it here! The hiking is scenic and a good workout, and I am getting to see my Hollywood friends more often! I do miss my friends & family in London though, and can you believe they don’t have a Nandos here!!!!!

It’s been a good week for me. I got to catch my friends, the Canadian band Magic! perform at the El Rey Theater. They were wicked!

I also watched the Belgium vs. US game at a pub. Nice to see Americans passionate about football. Can’t wait to see who makes the finals. Who do you think will make it?

This past week was my first 4th of July in America, their Independence Day! Americans usually celebrate by watching fireworks, and indulging in other festivities. I celebrated with my American friends at a pool party. What better way to celebrate!

Looking forward to co-host with Mario Lopez on Extra this week! Be sure to check me out!! Speak again soon. Luv you all!

Ps: Mylo found it hard to adjust to the LA lifestyle – he did a poop in the Beverly Shopping Centre . It was highly embarrassing :/

New beginnings!

Hello my friends, from sunny Los Angeles! I can hardly believe that I’ve been in LA for nearly two weeks now – Mylo is great and absolutely loving the weather…just in case you were wondering about my little guy.

I’m really excited to be blogging for HELLO!, and thought this could be a good way to keep everyone in the know about my new journey – insert (cheesy?) lyric “here I go again on my ownnnn….” thanks for that, Journey.

New start in LA

New start in LA

These past two weeks have been a bit chaotic. The flight over was really tough…we were extremely jet lagged for about three days, but you know me me…I bounced back and made a full recovery. My first weekend here I went hiking in Runyon Canyon – wow! The view was awesome.

I must say, it’s very refreshing to do so many active things out doors and with nature. We’ve also moved in to a new flat (or “apartment” as they say here), and I’ve become an expert furniture assembler and mover.

I’m thinking of opening a part time moving and assembly business…I love it THAT much. No I don’t. LOL. Been catching up with old friends, making some new friends. Hmmm…what else?

Last week I attended The Thirst Project’s annual Thirst Gala, my very first red carpet as an official Los Angeles resident. The Thirst Project is an amazing organisation that brings safe, clean drinking water to people around the world.

I was so shocked to learn that almost 1 billion people on the planet do not have access to safe, clean water, and 4,100 kids under the age of five will die today from drinking dirty water.

Pretty crazy. You guys should definitely get involved. I’ve also been back in the studio doing what I absolutely love…writing and recording. I’m so excited for you to hear what I’m working on. It’s going to be big!

Now that you’re pretty much up to date on what I’ve been up to since the big move…I’m going to get a little mushy for a moment.

I thought you deserved to know my final thoughts on “things” with the band. Firstly, each one of you has touched my life and made me a better person each and every day. Please know that this is NOT a goodbye, so put those tears and tissues away!!

We’ve been like family, you and me, but it’s weird because I feel like you’ve only had a small taste of who I am and what I sound like. I was put in a role with the band that I didn’t really like, and it wasn’t easy, because I was prevented from being me and having a voice.

Time to spread my feathers

Time to spread my feathers

Mark Whalberg said it best (yes another cheesy moment) – “The peacock needs to spread its wings and fly” lol — and I plan on doing just that :) So with my next step, and in this next phase, I’m SOOOOOOO excited to show you the other 60% of me that I couldn’t show you.

I’m so thankful for your support and I plan to continue doing what I love, so with this blog you’re gonna read about all of the stuff I’m doing – whether it’s making music, acting, or just sharing my thoughts on life. I’ll be posting every Tuesday, so stay tuned for next week…

Speak next week

Speak next week

This is just the beginning, so hold on tight and I can’t wait to see where we’ll end up next…together. You’ve made my days brighter, and I love you all. Talk again soon!
