As we were in the bottom two last week, we want to come back with a bang

Ashley and I are dancing a full-on salsa this week. I’ve made it really tough; I’ve put everything into the routine apart from the kitchen sink!

We’re doing a step that no-one has ever done on Strictly and there are a couple of bits in the routine that could go wrong. Potentially I could smash my head on the floor – but I’m hoping not!  It’s one of the most difficult routines I’ve ever done.

I’ve got bruises everywhere – it’s hard to move. Ashley has got them as well.

Being in the bottom two was hard, but someone has got to be there. It has made us come back fighting and we’ve managed to put in a few more hours of training this week.

It was really sad to see Mark Benton and his partner Iveta go last week. They are both genuinely lovely people – but we’ll get to see them in a couple of weeks when everyone is returning for the final.

James and I haven’t been able to dance in the group routines recently as James has injured his back and has been advised not to dance. He is like a hyperactive little child and he is really finding it hard not to do anything. I am in Liverpool during the week so I only get to see James at weekends – I really miss him.

Thanks for all your support last week and comments on my outfit. I quite liked wearing the dark wig. I used to have black hair when I was younger so it was nice to go back to it for a while. I wasn’t told what I’m wearing in advance of this weekend – but I know it’s a short little sexy number!

Ashley’s Aladdin in our dance this week and he’s loving it

I’ve been very busy this week, it’s always busy on Strictly!

This week is musicals week and we’re dancing a Rumba as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine to A Whole New World. I was quite worried about the Rumba at first, but actually I’m liking it now, I think it’s good and we’ve had a lot of fun.

It’s one of the slowest dances so it’s hard to make it look good if that makes sense.

I’m dressing as Princess Jasmine. I’m not sure if we have black wig or not yet, it depends what it looks like on the night. There’s one that’s been prepared for me but I’m not sure if I’m going to wear it.

I’ve got blue pants like the ones Jasmine has in the film. It’s going to be quite cute!

Ashley is Aladdin and he’s loving it! It suits him because he’s like a kid, you can imagine, he’s cheeky and fun.

I don’t know what the others have been up to in detail but they’re all looking really good. They looked very good in rehearsals on Friday. We just have to pray that we stay in the competition.

Controlling your nerves is my best piece of advice. Nerves can get the better of you and take over. Ashley gets really nervous.

Even for me it’s still very hard. I still get nervous, even after ages on the show it’s definitely not getting any easier!

I do always make sure that my shoes are not slippery. That’s the worst thing that can happen.

Cleaning the bottom of my shoes is always the thing I do before going out to dance.

After the show I have a cheeky glass of wine to relax, just one a week though, I’m not allowed any more!

I’ve been watching Vincent on I’m A Celeb. I’ve been working a lot at night but I have been watching it online.

I love Vincent! I’m still backing him to win.I’m also getting excited for Christmas.

When I’m in Liverpool waiting for Ashley to finish work I go around the shops and it’s so Christmassy!I’m slightly panicking that my Christmas shopping isn’t done yet though – it’s not good!

There is a Christmas special of Strictly. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say about the details of the show but it’s going to be fabulous – it always is.

I won the Christmas special last year! I’m not actually involved in this one because I’m still in the competition but I’m sure there’ll be another fantastic winner.

There are four Saturdays left in the competition and Ashley and I have had quite good marks so far.

Last week we were second on the leader board which was absolutely fantastic but the competition is getting hard.

It depends what dance you have it depends what everyone else is dancing you really don’t know what’s going to happen!

I’d put money on Vincent Simone to win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

I’ve had a very good week this week, training has been going really well.

We were so happy with the show last week, it was really funny to see Ashley dressed as a cowboy!

Ashley’s Paso Doble was one of the best Pasos a male celebrity has ever done on the show and I think it’s a shame that the judges didn’t mention that.

I was really proud of him and he’s really improving this week, we’ve got the Viennese Waltz so it’s going to be nice and romantic.

I’ll be wearing a lovely, light pink dress. We’re hoping it’s going to be a beautiful dance, gliding across the floor.

Ashely’s no longer just a ‘ballroom boy’. I don’t think he initially loved doing the Paso but then by the end of the week he absolutely loved it and he wanted to do it again and again.

We were all upset about the thefts that happened while we were in Blackpool, it really wasn’t nice at all.

Some of the celebrities got things stolen from their dressing rooms although thankfully my phone was packed away in my bag and I didn’t have my wallet on me so that was lucky, but it was such a shame for the others.

It was also really sad to see Fiona and Anton go.

Anton’s so lovely I always like to be doing the show with him, he’s so funny. It was a shame they went but I think they were okay with it. It’s always a shame, whoever goes.

This week I’ve seen that Vincent Simone is going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

I wouldn’t rule out going on I’m A Celeb but I don’t know if I’d be very good with the creepy crawlies and when they eat that all the horrible stuff – I don’t know if I could do it.

Vincent’s not going to be able to do it either! But he’ll be really funny, people are going to love him so he’ll be really good for the show.

I want him to prove me wrong but I don’t think he can do it.

I wish him luck though, he’s lovely, I love Vincent. I would put money on him to win because people will love him.

Ashley took me to visit the Hollyoaks set

Thanks so much for all your support during Halloween week – we loved it.

This week Ashley took me to the Hollyoaks set – so I got to go in the pub and café where they film.  I  got a kiss from Danny Mac, who is a hottie, so I have been boasting about that!

Ashley and I are dancing a quickstep to the Jet’s Are You Going To Be My Girl.

It’s a full on dance  – that you need a lot of energy. It’s killing us both! He calls me his little Polish Angel Monster!

You really feel like you have lost a lot of  weight after a couple of hours training. I tweeted a picture of Ashley  having some junk food this week. We do try to eat as healthy as you can, but especially for a guy, they need to  eat.

Ashley stole my phone when I was doing an interview this week and wrote a tweet from my phone saying, “I must admit @ashoztd has taught me so much about dancing! I thought @The_JamesJordan was good but he’s got nothing on Ash! #sadbuttrue! will make sure I have my revenge after that!

I was really sad to see Rachel Riley voted off  last week, we got on really well.

The competition is so good this year. I think Sophie and Natalie will do really well, and no-one really talks about it, but I think Susana Reid is the dark horse of the competition. I think she’s one to watch.

Thanks for voting for us – I hope we are doing you proud!

I’m the monster in our special Halloween dance

Poor Artem had his nose accidentally broken by Natalie in rehearsals last week. It happens to us all – I did the same to James last year.

I’m actually covered in bruises because Ashley keeps kicking me all the time! His knees keep knocking into my knees when we dance, so they are covered in bruises. But it is all part of the job!

We’re dancing a tango to Ne-Yo’s Beautiful Monster this week – and I’m going to be the monster.

I can’t wait to get my hair and make-up done by our amazing team. I’m hoping for coloured contact lenses.

We’ve got a celebrity group dance as well as a professional group dance this week, so there’s a lot to remember.

We rehearsed all our professional group dances back in August, so then we have a refresher lesson every Monday.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes we’ll turn up for Friday rehearsals at Elstree studios and can’t remember what we did on a Monday. We just have so much to store in our brains and our priority is always our celebrity dance.

We were all really sad to see Deborah Meaden and Robin Windsor voted off last week. You could see how much Deborah enjoyed every single minute of training and dancing.

It’s always a bittersweet moment – you’re happy to go through, but really sad for them as well.

Peter Andre says he’d love to dance with me on Strictly

Hello everyone

There’s been talk about the male contestants and dancers in Strictly being told not to dance with their tops off or their shirts unbuttoned, but I don’t know where this story came from. It certainly didn’t come from a woman – topless men are part of the Strictly entertainment!

I bumped into Peter Andre this week and we had a chat about Strictly. We were both staying at the same hotel in Liverpool.

Peter loves Strictly and wants to be a part of it. He said he would love to dance with me, but the only thing that stops him is that he is scared of the outfits. I said “You would only wear trousers anyway because we would never put a shirt on you”.

Ashley and I haven’t had as much time to train this week because of his Hollyoaks schedule. We’ve been training for a jive and Ashley said he felt a bit like a Daddy longlegs because he is so tall.

He has such long arms and big feet so it’s quite hard to co-ordinate everything, but we have worked on his arms and footwork. We’ve got a great routine to Johnny B Goode and Ashley gets to use his guitar at the beginning so it’s good fun.

I’ve given him a bit of tough love this week and have tried to push him because the jive is a really high energy dance. He said he has nearly fainted three times. He is 31 but sometimes he acts like he is 40!

I haven’t seen much of my husband James this week as he’s been working on something for Children in Need. I can’t tell you who he was dancing with.

Watch this space!

Celebrating our 10th anniversary in front of millions of people was pretty special

I was speechless on last week’s show, when James and I were given a wedding cake to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary.

To celebrate in front of millions of people was pretty special. Our anniversary happened during Strictly’s Love Week, which was just a coincidence! We did a wedding dance on the Sunday show and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.

James and I are hardly spending any time together at the moment, because I’m based in Liverpool when I train with Ashley, but we’re planning to have another celebration when the series is over by going on holiday to Las Vegas.

I was really pleased with how Ashley danced on Saturday. His nerves have got worse every week, though! I need to do something about that – but how do you teach someone not to be nervous?

We’re doing the Viennese Waltz this week and Ashley has fitted his training into a very busy Hollyoaks schedule. One night we started training at 8.30pm and finished at midnight. But he is always so committed. When 10.30pm comes, I can see that he gets tired and can’t take so much in, but he always gives it his best.

We were so sad to see James and Vanessa voted off last week. It’s disappointing when a partnership works and then it has to end. I never thought I’d say this but they were actually very sweet together.

I hope you enjoy our dance this week. Thanks so much for all your support!

‘We had a baby!’

Oh my God we had a baby! Well, I say “we” but Ashley’s girlfriend had a baby. I feel like I went through it as well, though!

Ashley has done really well with his Strictly training this week, considering. On Tuesday he phoned to say that he couldn’t come into training as his baby was being born. Everyone is healthy and happy and I think he’s glad his baby has arrived as he can concentrate more now. His mind must have been all over the place, but every time he comes into training he gives 100 per cent.

We managed to find time to train this week and we’ve got three lifts in our American Smooth routine. I must admit that I was nervous about the lifts as I didn’t think he would be one of the strongest guys.

I think he has been trying to match James’s muscles. I think there is a bit of competition and he doesn’t want James to know he has been going to the gym!

We are both so glad we got the week one nerves out of the way. To be the first dancers on the first Friday… it was awful. I just got a hot flush, went sweaty and my legs were shaking. This is my eighth series of Strictly and it doesn’t get any easier. You think you’d get used to the nerves but you don’t.

‘Ashley’s got his phone with him all the time in case his baby is born!’

Welcome to the first of my exclusive Strictly Come Dancing blogs for HELLO! Online! Ashley and I enjoyed rehearsing for the first live show.

We’re dancing a cha-cha-cha to What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction – it’s a fun song so I think it matches his personality. He’s quite cheeky in it. I’m hoping the female fans will like him so we stay in the competition!

We’ve been training every day, late nights because Ashley is still filming quite a lot in Hollyoaks. He’s got a big storyline going on, so he’s been needed at work all day. We’ve been starting training at 8 or 9pm and dancing until 12, so it’s been quite strange for me to have the whole day off.

I wouldn’t say he’s a natural dancer, to be honest, he has to be taught arm work and placement, but he picks up the steps quickly.

And he’s so nice to work with, such a lovely guy. We’re having a laugh as well. His fiancée Karen was due to give birth on Thursday, so he’s had the phone on all the time in case she rings.

So, it could happen at anytime! If his baby is born during a live show, his mind will be all over the place. It’s quite scary for him – and for me as well and it’s not even my baby!
