Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Charlotte Green, an incredible cake maker based in London. Charlotte is the owner of Langs of London, a luxury cake maker specialising in fine filigree icing and realistic sugar flowers that produce truly breathtaking bespoke creations for weddings and celebrations.
For the glittering press event, which took place at The Bloomsbury Hotel, Charlotte created an amazing ten tier cake (see above).
The cake was decorated with more than five hundred individually handcrafted sugar roses and flowers.
The cake was designed and made in Charlotte’s studio, in Earlsfield, and transported to the venue in twelve separate boxes. The sugarpastes used in its creation weighed over twenty kilograms, and once in place on its table and stand, the luxurious creation stood at over seven feet tall! Don’t you think it’s amazing?
The other guests and I were treated to a selection of DELICIOUS cakes in unique flavours: Lavender, Chocolate with Chocolate Rum Buttercream, Vanilla Rose, Sicilian Lemon, and Raspberry & White Chocolate, all washed down with a refreshing glass of champagne.
The Lavender proved to be a hit amongst the guests, but my favourite was the Sicilian Lemon, just thinking about it now makes my mouth water!
