Winter skin – advice and recommendations, and a sunny filming trip abroad!

Hi everyone!

Have you had a good week? I have been out of the country on a top secret filming project for Ordinary Lies. It went very well, and I am not going to lie – it was lovely to be in the sunshiiiiiiinnnnneeee! and to get a few hours of downtime on a sun lounger, was very much enjoyed.

Here’s some pictures of me and some of the cast/crew – this is me with Gemma & Fiona our two fantastic make-up artists, and Charelle who is my co-star on the series.

Here’s myself and Charelle on a scooter – my playsuit is from Primark! Love the bright colours and it fitted really well too.

We had SUCH a good time and all got on very well.

I made sure I watched Mark’s performance on Saturday night – I thought his and Karen’s charleston was SO GOOD and my dad Mike and stepmum Lynne went down to support him in Blackpool too, so that was nice. I’m very proud of how well he is doing, he’s been so dedicated, and I think he’s really starting to shine on Strictly.

Anyway its back to errrrr not so sunny Manchester now, and yes, I AM feeling the chill! I have kept up with my training over the last week though and have been working out in my new Lipsy Sportswear.
My favourite pieces are these slogan T’s :

Also, this week I have changed my healthy eating plan to the Paleo eating plan with http://soulmatefood.com/

The Paleo plan is a different way of eating, a nutrient dense plan… lots of protein! The Paleo Diet is based on how humans used to eat as cavemen, WAY back in the day, before processed foods etc. the philosophy is this – If a caveman couldn’t eat it, neither can you.

My ex Corrie co-star and friend Cath Tyldesley swears by Paleo for good health, so I thought I would give it a whirl. Will let you know my thoughts soon and will tell you if I am honestly missing carbs or not!

Now with Winter now well and truly here, it’s so important too look after your skin. Mine does get quite dry during the cold months so I change my skin routine a bit. I tend to go for cream based moisturizers instead of serums, and make sure I put on plenty of eye cream in the morning and the night time.

My favourite eye creams are Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Dark Circle minimizer which has a goldy tint to it to help with brightening your skin under the eyes.

mkblogc

And Dermalogica’s Intensive Eye Repair which contains Vitamin A and Pro Vitamin b5 to help with fine lines and improve elasticity.

mkbloge

Before I moisturize at night I make sure my make-up is all off by using this Kiehls Deep Pore Cleansing Mask which foams a bit when you add water and gives your face a really decent clean without drying out your skin and making it feel taut.

mkblognewa It contains Amazonian clay apparently too (not sure what that does but it sounds good!), the cleanser claims to help reduce the appearance of pores. I have been using it for a couple of weeks both in hot and cold weather and I definitely see an improvement.

Rich moisturizers I am loving at the moment are Dermalogica Skin Smoothing crème during the day and their Super Rich Repair moisturiser at night.

mkblogn

This is the Don of face creams that I have tried – it contains powerful peptides help stimulate collagen production while an acid-free smoothing complex helps improve elasticity and tone. It’s by no means the cheapest product on the market though – (its £62 but a little does go a long way!) and if you are looking for something more affordable then I would suggest The Sanctuary Moisture Miracle Balm ( absolute BARGAIN at £7.50) or the Laura Mercier Mega Moisturiser £42.50 which really hydrates your skin and contains lots of Vit A + E too.

mkblogj

mkblogi

I also asked one of my favourite make up artists Emily Clarkson @EmmyClarkson1 http://emilyclarkson.co.uk/ for her tips on Winter skincare – her comments below:

“With the winter season fast approaching, it’s time to start preparing your skin for the cold weather. I always start firstly by using a great cleanser. I first used this Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm years ago when my skin was extremely sensitive and prone to breakouts and it completely changed my skin! It’s perfect for removing make up at night and I also use it in the morning to clean and cleanse the skin before moisturizer.

mkblogk

http://www.emmahardie.com

“A great moisturizer is key to keeping you hydrated throughout the day, if you have read Michelle’s blog on radiant skin you’ll know we love the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre, it is amazing and perfect before applying make up- you’ll really see the difference! My clients love it! (http://www.embryolisse.co.uk)

mkblogl

“If you have extremely dry or flakey skin and need a moisturizer that is thicker and more intense- Origins ‘Make A Difference Plus +’ is instantly effective and is incredible for targeting extremely dry areas.

mkblogm

http://www.origins.co.uk

“It’s really important to keep your lips protected against the cold weather, we all know how frustrating chapped lips can be! This Dermalogica climate control lip treatment- is perfect for repairing any damaged skin and really helps protect against the coldest of days! http://www.dermalogica.co.uk

“Lastly but still just as important, don’t forget to keep your body moisturised! This Soap & Glory body butter lotion smells unbelievable and keeps your skin silky smooth and smelling great all day! Double up on your elbows and knees for the best result! “

Thanks Emily for your expert advice!

Before I sign off this week, I must let you know about my official posters that are now on sale in HMV, Poster Lounge and GB Posters – http://www.gbposters.com/michelle-keegan-brand

The pictures used were some extra images from my 2015 Calendar. I LOVE these pictures and hope you do too… if you go to the GB website you will see a competition to win a signed one from me too! :-)

Filming Ordinary Lies and my beauty and fashion must haves

It has been another busy week on the set of Ordinary Lies. There’s a real camaraderie amongst the cast and crew and I’ve struck up some really good friendships which is really nice.

Here’s a picture of me with some of the gals!

girls

One of the cast members is Jason Manford, he’s a very funny guy (yes I know , he’s a comedian, he’s supposed to be!). He made a joke on twitter a couple of weeks ago that I’m playing his wife in the series, however I’m actually not! The press keep writing it every time we get pictured now, sorry to disappoint guys but Jason was having you on!

I’ve been keeping warm on set in my Australia Luxe boots. I’ve had them a while, a couple of years at least, and they are so snugly. Bit more expensive than Uggs but they last for years and I think they are funkier looking too.

Here’s some other designs they do that I have my eye on:

uggs

As I said the other week, I’ve had my hair extensions taken out now, and I’m giving my hair lots of TLC so that it’s in the best possible condition next year.

I have been using this Philip Kinglsey Elastizer and it’s seriously good.

philip

The way it works is this: Healthy hair stretches when wet before returning to its original length when dry. However hair in poor condition snaps and breaks when stretched (like mine!) Intensely moisturising Elasticizer delivers a rush of moisture to the hair’s cuticle; suppleness, elasticity and bounce appear instantly without weighing down or coating the hair.

You can notice the difference in how your hair feels and looks after the first time you use it!

Have you every heard of a make-up brand called Kiko Milano? It’s a leading Italian cosmetics company, they launched in 1997, and aren’t that well known in the UK, but the brand is growing fast so they must be good! I have been sent some of their pieces. Love the packaging especially the decent sized mirrors in the eye shadow compacts, and will be trying these out properly in the next couple of weeks.

eyeshadow

I’m still loving all my Dermalogica products (especially here two below) and can say that my skin is sooooo much better than it was a couple of months ago. It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly has made it improve, but combined with healthy diet, lots of water , skin supplements and of course all the different potions and lotions I have been trying on my boat race, this seems to have done the trick!

dermaderma1

Finally, I must tell you about this gorgeous Orange Flower & Lychee body mist from Kiehls. Now I tend to stick to perfumes, but this scent is so delicious that I don’t need to put anything on over it and it’s a handy handbag size. Next time you pass the Kiehls counter – ask for a spray! It kind of reminds me of a morning summery holiday scent, combined with my favourite Lychee Martinis from a restaurant in Manchester called Australasia. YUM!

Making a house a home, cheeky night in London, and top tips for healthy hair

This week has been a mixture of filming up in Manchester and getting my home all nice and organised in Essex.

We are so settled in our new home, it’s like a real sanctuary now, and I have to thank Laura and Sarah who run an interior design/furniture shop business in Essex called ‘Stripes of Essex’.

They are sisters and have a sharp eye for detail, and have helped make the house into a home :-) can’t recommend them enough – thank you talented ladies!! To contact them please tweet @stripesofessex or here’s the website http://www.stripesofessex.com

Here are some pictures:

michelle3 michelle4 michelle5

In other news, I’ve finally taken out the hair extensions I had in over the summer, and it feels goooooood!

Instead for volume and thickness, I just pop in some Beauty Works clip in’s ( http://beautyworksonline.com ) and they do the trick. They do them in lots of different lengths and colours and the quality of hair is very good.

It’s so important to look after your hair , and keep it in tip top condition. This week I asked one of my favourite hairdressers Reuben Wood, what his expert tips are on keeping your tresses shiny and lush :-)

Reuben said :
1 Try not to wash your hair every day, as this can strip your hair of natural oils!
When you wash your hair try using silicon free shampoo, massage you scalp, as this increases circulation and prevents dandruff. Repeat and rinse. Then use a good conditioner using stroking motions and try to avoid the roots, just mid length to ends! (For a bouncy blow dry) and try using the coolest temp, so that you don’t overheat your hair .

2 Avoid combing your hair when wet, as the hair is stretchy and can snap.

3 Always good to use a soft bristle brush, as this also helps spread natural oils through the hair!

4 When blow drying point the dryer down the shaft of the hair to smooth the cuticle, avoid pointing the hair dryer to the scalp.

5 Once a week use a good treatment (such as Kerastase Masquintense ) have a glass of wine and chill for a hour!!!!!

www.reubenwoodcreatives.co.uk

Pahaahaha, not sure what relevance the glass of wine has in keeping your hair in good condition, but who cares!

I’ve been continuing on my healthy (ish) eating mission with my SoulMate food plan www.soulmatefood.com

As I said the other week, I’m not on a ‘diet’ (I have spotted a couple of magazines suggesting this, and it’s not true). I have no desire to loose weight, healthy eating is just that- eating balanced and nutritious meals. I’m having three meals and three snacks a day!!!

I’m still enjoying Bootea too and have these tasty herbal teas instead of coffee, because they are much healthier.

michelle2

Bootea teatox is from www.bootea.com or Holland and Barrett nationwide.

Speaking of food, I went to London end of the week to see Mark , he was on ‘it takes two’ (here’s some sneaky lil piccies backstage).

michelle7michelle6

Then we went to the INCREDIBLE Sushi Samba. It’s a mixture of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food.

chell1

Wow this was food heaven!! We had steak cooked on stones, delicious sushi and these ice cream parcel cake things (can’t remember what they were called) …. here’s me – wearing my new gorgeous faux fur pink #lipsylovemichelle coat, top is Zara and skirt Topshop. Gorgeous night!

michelle

My Winter collection for Lipsy London went on sale nationwide this week. Hurray!!! www.lipsylondon.co.uk to check it out. Here’s some of my favourite pieces …tweet me @michkeegan and let me know which ones are your faves!

Partying with Brooke Vincent in Ibiza

So I’m back on UK soil, after having a fab break in sunny Ibiza. I was over there for a photoshoot and luckily got the chance to relax with my friends, including my cousin Katie who celebrated her birthday there and one of my best pals from Corrie, the one and only Brooke Vincent.

Brooke and I used to share a dressing room and we have a similar sense of humour. She’s huge fun to be around and I’ve missed her since I left in April so it was lovely to have some QPT (quality party time) together!

Here’s us in Ushuwia and us at the Lipsy Ocean Beach pool party.

image_1

We also went to Pacha which was amazing. The nightlife over there is really something.

image

Once back in Essex my mummy Jackie and my stepdad Dave came down to stay with me in the new house. We did some serious homeware retail therapy, I also managed to get my hands on this gorgeous new pair of new look shoes – perfect for a LBD or trouser suit at the absolute bargain price of £34.99. No, they are not home wear, but I could wear them in the house??!!

image_2

I also got this really cute necklace from @sparklingrings, I haven’t taken it off!

image_3

I have been searching for some new lounge/chill wear and spent ages wandering around Westfield some some comfy clothing… but couldn’t really find anything that caught my eye – so it was a sheer fluke this week, when I got sent this gorgeous new range from Miami.

image_4

It’s starting up in the UK via www.bestfriendshowroom.co.uk (the website isn’t live yet so if you want to get some of the range now – go to www.peaceloveworld.com) and the clothing is really soft and feels quality, fits really well and I love the slogans on the tracksuit tops and t shirts.

image_6

Reminds me a bit of the ‘Wildfox’ Brand but the cost is a little less.

Look at these! Really cute, perfect for travelling, yoga or just snuggling on the couch with a brew and a mag!!

image_5

This week I stood in for Mark Heyes who is the fashion expert on Lorraine. I really like working with Lorraine Kelly and Kate Garraway… They make presenting look so easy, and if I’m being honest – it really isn’t! You have people talking into your ear while you are talking to the camera and it’s very fast paced but the show is very professional and I always enjoy going on.

While I am on the subject of TV it won’t be long now till I can let you know what me next acting role will be!! I’m SO excited about it, it’s a serious drama and can’t wait to get started on filming which will be later next month… As soon as I can tell you more I will :-)

The second phase of my Lipsy collection was out nationwide on Wednesday. I love the campaign images, we shot it at the very cool London ME hotel here’s a few of my favourite pieces :-)

image_9image_8image_7

You can get the new phase on www.lipsy.co.uk on ASOS.com in Bank and Lipsy stores too.

Until next week
Lots of love

Holidaying in Majorca with my girlfriends

My feet have barely touched UK soil this week… More of my girlfriends joined me in Spain mid week, and I’m not gonna lie – we had a BALL!

Can I just say – how amazing is this hotel we stayed in? We stayed at the ME Mallorca hotel http://www.melia.com/en/hotels/spain/majorca/me-mallorca/index.html TWITTER: @MEMallorca

It looks like it could be in Palma, Barcelona or St Tropez but NO! Can you believe it is slap bang in the middle of Magaluf! Yes Magaluf – the resort with all the bad press!!! Well, can I just say that I love Mallorca – and that includes Magaluf- especially because of this gorgeous hotel.

Shots on our veranda of the @MEMallorca. How ladylike!!

The rooms are really modern and elegant, and the staff are warm and professional. Me and my girls (there were 7 of us) spent the days relaxing by the pool or at the beach, and at night we either went out in Magaluf, or took a cab (15mins) to Puerto Portals or Palma for dinner and dancing!

Here’s some snaps from our trip :

So from Tuesday to Friday it was a proper girls holiday. On the Friday Mark flew back over to Mallorca with his pal because he had a PA there on the Saturday, and it was my friend Liz’s birthday so we needed somewhere loud and fun to celebrate this – we decided to watch the world famous Pirates show which is about 10 mins walk from our hotel.

Me and the cast

Me and the cast

I went a couple of months ago to the family show (and told you about it in this very blog!) but this one was the late night *aherm* adult version. It’s basically a bit racier, pumping music and lots of scantily clad acrobatic & breakdancing pirates.

The girls and all of the Pirates

We all LOVED it, it’s a very slick show and you can tell the cast love doing it! For more info go to their website http://www.piratesadventure.com .

Mark and the HOT female cast (Mark looks quite pleased with himself ha ha!)

Mark and the HOT female cast (Mark looks quite pleased with himself ha ha!)

Sadly on Sunday we had to say goodbye to Mallorca because I had a business meeting in London on Monday. It was SO special to be able to spend a week with some of my closest friends.

Now on a slightly different note – whenever I am on shoots I always ask the creatives I work with for handy hints, cheats, products they recommend and and ones they don’t. I’ve decided to start sharing their expert hints and tricks with my HELLO! Blog readers – because they are the ones with the expert know how and help me look A LOT better than I ever do when I first sit down in that makeup chair in the morning…

Or when I arrive at a hotel for a red carpet event in my trackie and greasy hair! Anyway, first thing I asked them was – tricks to take a good picture – be it a selfie snap or a red carpet moment – and here’s what they said:

One of my favourite make-up artists Collette Casey, said her fail safe tricks for looking good in front of a camera are:

Collette and I on a recent Lipsy campaign shoot

Collette and I on a recent Lipsy campaign shoot

1.Lightening your foundation /concealer under eyes and “T” zone area only by a shade or two with flatter your face.

2. Bare in mind the direction of the light you will be in, especially if it’s side lit as it can cast shadows on the face so if you have a side parting – it’s more flattering on the face if it’s got less hair on that side.

3. Taking photos from slightly higher is more flattering on the face.

4. Don’t fake a smile – you can tell when it’s faked! – real smiles make your eyes sparkle.

5. It is more flattering on the arms if they are softly placed sometimes with a soft bend and not squashed to the sides of your body.

And the brilliant Kelvin Barron – red carpet and fashion stylist extraordinaire, gave me these gems to share with you all:

image-hello

1. For the best results in pictures it’s firstly important that you look after your skin which will lead to a healthy glow. It doesn’t have to be hundreds of pounds investing on expensive treatments, you can buy products such as ‘Simple’ which are great for cleansing, toning and moisturising. For a little treat I advise Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream.

2. Feel good in not only your clothes, but by being yourself. Confidence will transcend into amazing imagery and also help your posture. You will generally have better poise when your feeling amazing, rolling the shoulders back is key to avoid looking slouched. Be proud of the skin your in.

3. Draw attention to your unique features and your strong points rather that worry about the areas you don’t like. Whether you want to show off some killer cleavage (always tasteful), you have amazing legs or maybe even a facial feature like a beauty spot – embrace beauty, femininity and what makes you – you!

4. Match your mood and your facial expressions to your clothes. I love working with actresses as they can play more of a role in pictures. So if your wearing an outfit that’s a little sexy – you can play a little more moody, pouty and vampy. It’s all about playing a character in the clothes your in. Actresses like Blake Lively, Emma Stone and Nicola Peltz are my red carpet pros for this and artists like Rihanna really know when to play and vamp it up.

I will have more expert secrets next week – and I will share a few of mine too!

Until then,

Lots of love

My Lipsy London collection has finally launched!

Hurray!!! My first ever collection with Lipsy London has finally launched! At the time I am typing this (now back in Manchester and having a very lazy night in with Phoebe and Pip) the feedback so far has been really positive and the range is selling well. In fact, some of the pieces have even sold out already! Thank you to everyone who has supported me, and like the clothes! It means ALOT!

image7

This week has been a real whirlwind. I was already down in Essex and had my third photoshoot with Lipsy on the Tuesday. It was a beautifully decorated home in Maida Vale and I got a lot of style inspiration for my own (new) home from it.

image6

It was for the third wave of the Autumn/Winter collection and this one contains lots of party dresses, knits and coats. My favourite piece is a floor length black dress. Perfect for a Christmas ball or works do! As soon as I can show you a sneaky piccy I will!

image3

I worked with two new creatives on this shoot: the lovely Caroline Barnes for my make-up and Ben Cooke for hair.

They have worked with a lot of great ladies like Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham and Nicole Scherzinger so it was fab to have them on board. Ben introduced me to these fab hair products which are Tamara Ecclestone’s new venture.

image5

I LOVED the style of packaging, the bottles were suprsingly heavy, and the actual product was great on my hair – these I loved the best : SHOW Divine Thickening Lotion and the SHOW Finishing Spray. It’s not a cheap brand by any means (around £30-£40 a bottle, so maybe best if you are a professional or it’s a present for someone?), but you pay for the feminine and luxury bottles, and the product.

tam

Caroline used these products on me and I was very impressed with them, so I begged her to give them to me after for my own make-up bag (thanks Caroline!) Max Factor Black False Lash effect (and as I had taken my lash extensions off, I really needed this for extra oomph!) and this Bobbi Brown eyeliner. It’s great for a precise, smooth eyeline and it goes on really easily.

image4

The following morning I had some hair extensions fitted (I was really missing the thickness in my hair so decided to get some for summer) at the great Inanch in London.

michelle-new

Then later on that day I went to Ben’s salon across the city to get some sun kissed highlights in my hair. I had been thinking about it for a while, and have never had my hair lightened before so I’m not gonna lie I did feel a bit apprehensive, but I love it and think it’s very subtle and gives my hair a bit more texture and shine :-)

image10

Here’s me in the salon with Sophie the colourist and Ben …

image8

I have got some of this Philip Kinglsey to look after my hair and keep it in good condition. It’s extra important when you colour your hair or get extensions.

image11

I also use this supplement from www.myvitamins.com – the thicker, fuller hair bundle which contains Vit B complex Vit C Zinc and a combination of minerals that concentrate on hair growth and strength. Nioxin Diaboost is also a quality product when you have or have had hair extensions. It contains Panthenol and other good stuff which makes your hair feel thicker, especially at the roots.

nioxindia

After my morning of pampering, I hot footed it over to the very swanky Sanderson Hotel for a catch up with my pal Sandy – of Sandy Bay London fame – if you don’t know – she makes THE MOST amazing luxury candles. www.sandybaylondon.com. She gave me some for my new home as a moving in present – they smell so amazing and the candles last for a long time. (Oriental Jasmine is my new fave)

image1

It wasn’t long until it was time to get ready for the launch of my Lipsy London collection. The event was held in the boutique style Rosewood Hotel across London. I did one to one interviews with some very aspirational and cool fashion bloggers, mingled with buyers and the press and had a really good time aside. Some lovely ladies actually came wearing my dresses which was SUCH a proud moment for me as they all looked GORGEOUS!

The following morning the collection launched round the country so my team and I had an early start, I must admit I didn’t find it easy getting up in that morning! We visited various radio stations – here’s me with Lucie Cave from Heat, she’s so much fun and I loved our chat, and I also did a fashion based ‘ask Michelle’ on Twitter later on in the day, which went really well too.

image2

After this is was back up to Manchester on the train, where I slept the whole train journey! What can I say, a girl needs her beauty sleep :-)

Until next week

Lots of love Michelle xxx

My wedding worry and Mark Wright to the rescue

This week I have mostly been…… nursing my very sad and sore finger!

On Tuesday I accidentally shut my finger in a door and my nail has actually ripped off. It was SO painful I nearly fainted with the pain! It all happened so quickly and there was a fair bit of blood but Mark was able to patch me up a bit and stop the bleeding. Two days on and it is still making me wince with pain if someone brushes even just brushes my hand. It is also the middle my ring hand, so I’m hoping my nail will grow back in time for the wedding. Major major ouch!

I’m not going to post a pic of it (because it’s rank!!!) but here is my plastered up finger…

image4

Before #nailgate I was in Spain (again!) on a personal appearance and and took my cousin Kate and one of my bestest pals Rachel. We had a great time. During the Saturday afternoon we were chilling out by the hotel pool and having a girly gossip when I looked up and Mark was stood there!

He had told me he was playing golf with the boys so I had a lovely surprise when he and his pal were right in front of me! We all went on to have a fab night in Magaluf.

image6

I made sure I sprayed my hair with loads of this stuff – Mark Hill Work it Girl and Kevin Murphy Staying Alive leave in conditioner to stop the sun from drying it out.

Control spray

Here’s me and the girls on our Saturday night out and one of me getting ready for dinner – my top is from Mango and the pants are from TopShop – love them – they are great for warm nights out on your holidays.

image9

When I got back on Monday I spent time with my mummy and then went home to unpack and then re pack as it was straight off to London on the Tuesday for auditions and meetings (and to trap my finger in a door but I didn’t know that yet!) …

Look at Phoebe my sausage doggy, she’s so not wanting me to leave for London is she? I think she’s thinking “she won’t notice me in here!”

image7

Mark and I went it the ITV summer party at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday which was really lovely especially because I bumped into Helen Worth. She was such a mentor to me when I started on Corrie, my pretty summer dress is from Zara.

image8

On Wednesday, the following morning (with my finger still throbbing) I went with Mark to This Morning as he was presenting on The Hub (here’s a cheeky selfie on set!).

image5

Then I had a fab lunch meeting at The Ivy following by another at The Sanderson look at the afternoon tea I had – it has a Alice in Wonderland theme – so cute!…

alive

The rest of the week will be spent doing fittings and interviews for my Lipsy collection – it launches next Thursday by the way – so exciting!

‘Rome with Mark and my first ever calendar!’

I’ve spent most of the last week or so abroad, my feet have barely touched UK soil!

Firstly I will pick up from last week and my surprise trip to Rome. Mark knows I have always wanted to visit Rome.

Mark and I in Rome (with sore feet!)

Mark and I in Rome (with sore feet!)

I love a bit of culture and history! We left England VERY early in the morning, Mark checked us in so that I didn’t know where we were headed, I was convinced it was Paris and there was a flight leaving around the same time as the Rome one so it wasn’t until we had to go to the aeroplane that I sussed where we were going.

The actual Coliseum!

The actual Coliseum!

We ate lots, especially Italian ice cream (yum), visited the Vatican which was absolutely stunning and went to the Coliseum the following day.

English tourist in Rome

We must have walked for hours in our flip flops (which are not the most comfortable of footwear for sightseeing by the way!) My toes were pretty sore by the end of our trip but it was so worth it.

Possibly the best ice cream ever !!!!!

Even though we only had about 36 hours away in Rome it was really special :-)

Where many had walked

Mark flew back to London as he had a TV job and I arrived in Manchester to do a personal appearance in Manchester, here’s a pic of Reuben my hairdresser and Emily my MUA getting me ready in the Great John Street hotel which is a cute boutique hotel in the city centre (which used to be an old infants school), and then it was straight down to London with a group of my best friends for my birthday night out in the capital (yes that’s right – I celebrated it over a whollllllleeeeee week!)

We stayed at the London Malmaison, I’ve stayed here before and think it’s a really nice hotel especially the cool restaurant downstairs called ‘Strip Club’ (in reference to steaks by the way!).

For our night out we went to Shaka Zulu in Camden. The music is really good, a mix of old and new RnB and we all got up dancing. My dress is one of my faves from my new Lipsy range (out 3rd July) and the shoes are also Lipsy. We all had such a good time, we have all known each other since school and whenever we get together we have a lot of fun and banter :-) here are some pics from our night out …

I couldn’t stay too late partying because Laura my Publicist and I were off to Spain the following morning for a very special photo shoot. I’m happy to tell all my HELLO! readers… I have shot my first ever official calendar!

Shaka Zulu

Shaka Zulu

We flew to Mallorca and stayed in a huge, modern villa in Pollensa, up in the hills of the island. My team (Alan, Fay, Lorraine, Collette, Laura and I) shot for 3 days at the villa and at various places around the beautiful island.

I also invited my mum along because I haven’t spent much quality time with her so we had lots of lovely catching up in the sunshine…

I’m not going to reveal any pictures just yet, but it looks amazing and I can’t wait for you all to see the calendar – it’s out later in the year!

Stunning coastline around Mallorca

Stunning coastline around Mallorca

I love Mallorca, it’s such a pretty place, the weather is fab (it was around 28′c every day) and it’s so convenient to get to & from the UK, I would love to have a holiday home there one day. On our day off we chartered a boat and went sailing which was such a treat and very relaxing..s Here are a couple of pictures from our day out .. I wore a cut out dress from topshop, my havanos flip flops and lots of sun cream! We swam in the sea, had a picnic and checked out the super yachts in Palma. One even had a helicopter on it…

My hair was getting pretty dry with all the extra sunshine it’s been having, so I used this hair masque Masquintense by Kerastase every day to keep it soft and shiny. I’ve also been hammering the after sun and my favourite Origins Dr Weil face serum & eye cream, and my Kiehls Midnight Recovery concentrate to make sure my skin stays hydrated. Years ago I used to sit out in the sun for hours on end with oil on but now I wear a decent factor (usually between a 15-25 ) and limit my sunbathing as it’s important to look after your skin. All my older friends tell me you will thank yourself in 10 years time, so I have taken this on board.

On our last evening we went down to Magaluf to watch the brilliant Pirates show. I was in awe of the performers from start to finish, I would describe it as a cross between Pirates of the Caribbean and Cirque de Soleil and well worth watching.

Next week I have more castings and meetings which I am really looking forward to, oh and I’m off to Ascot, so I need to find a new hat ! Will let you know more about my Spanish trip next week too as there’s lots more to share with you !!!!!!! ;-)

More Pirates!!

Until next time,

‘A peek at my new Lipsy collection’

What a week!!!! It’s been an epic week for me, up and down the country and all very exciting.

For starters I can finally tell you all about my collaboration with Lipsy London. I’m so pleased to be moving into the fashion world and I’m looking forward to launching my Autumn Winter collection on my birthday which is June 3 :-)

Sneaky pics from my Sussex shoot

I’ve been working with the Lipsy design team for months on the key looks specifically for date nights, stylish lunches with the girls and glam Saturday nights out. I’ve gone for monochrome as the main theme with some nude colours, navy, royal blue and a rich berry colour for some pieces.

I love the collection and hope you do too…. here’s a sneaky pic from one of the fashion shoots.

Enjoying the sun!

We shot in Sussex at a stunning modern house and the penthouse and roof terrace of the London ME hotel, both of which had a very modern Californian feel to them, lots of space and light.

We have also made a video lookbook which was SO much fun to shoot! It will give everyone an idea of how the pieces look when you walk and move about. Look at the spread we had for lunch (yum) !!

After the Lipsy shoots I had to leave straight away to get to the Celeb Juice studios in time to film the last one of the series.

I always dread what Keith has in store for me, can’t say a bucket of jellied eels on my head was my finest hour, but meh! Was fine after a good shower and I think they made my hair really shiny ha ha ..!

Here’s me with the goddess Davina McCall. I have huge admiration for her, she’s a lovely lady and a great presenter.

I also love 3T and meeting them more than made up from the fishy gunge! I’ve been a lifelong Michael Jackson fan and I loved 3T when they first started. The boys looked a little bemused by the antics on Celeb Juice, I don’t think they had seen the show before :-/

After Celeb Juice I went back to my hotel for some DIY pampering as my skin was looking dull and I was feeling a bit tired after the last few days of shooting as the make-up and late nights can take a bit of a toll on your face.

I ran a deeeeeeep bath, got the room service on order (cheesy chips, club sandwich and a chocolate mousse) and used Origins Ginzing Scrub Cleanser.

Love this Zingy cleanser

It’s a 2 in 1 product that cleanses and also exfoliates to wake up tired and dull skin. The oil blend is Grapefruit, Spearmint and Lemon so it smells really fresh and zesty. I also slapped on loads of my new favourite beauty balm ’7 Day Moisture Miracle Oil Balm ‘ afterwards all over my face , knees, elbows, hands and feet and slept in it. My skin was silky smooth when I woke up – a marked improvement!

Also this week I did another appearance on Lorraine to chat about the High St Fashion Awards (the awards are next Wednesday and I’m back on the couch next Thursday too!) and met Charlie & Leo from Bars and Melody from Britain’s Got Talent (so cute!).

Real Heroes and bagging a treat

This week has been another busy one! I went to Ireland at the weekend and then on the Sunday I flew home VERY early to get to the christening for baby Ruby, my dear friend Robyn’s little girl. It was so lovely to catch up with my girlfriends and have some cake.

I decided to wear this sophisticated and comfortable jump suit by Lipsy. I love the nude colour, this is something I can wear again and again, in fact – I ended up driving down to Essex afterwards and having an impromptu night out still in the same jumpsuit, it’s definitely a fab day-to-night piece of clothing – you can get it here (http://www.lipsy.co.uk/store/kardashian/kardashian-v-neck-belted-jumpsuit/product-is-DR07333_041).

Here I am with my future husband and sister in law :-)

On Sunday I was on a PA in Peterborough and then had to hop on a train to London for my first appearance on Lorraine for the High Street Fashion Awards 2014.

I haven’t really done much presenting before, and it does feel a bit alien to me sometimes to talk into cameras, when I have been avoiding looking anywhere near them for 6 years, but I do enjoy it and Lorraine and Mark Heyes are so nice to work with.

Lorraine did a cracking leaving message on a video for me, which was a surprise at my leaving party, I forgot to say this on Tuesday – but thank you so much Lorraine!!!

My skirt blew up!

My skirt blew up!

When I left ITV Southbank I got caught by a gust of wind and my skirt blew up when I was getting into my car, Thankfully the photographers who were waiting outside didn’t see anything they shouldn’t! It could have been quite embarrassing otherwise…

Straight after Lorraine I went with my publicist to Tedworth in Wiltshire to meet some real heroes at Tedworth House.

Tedworth House aims to inspire the wounded, injured and sick and returning veterans to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives, which will enable them to reach their full potential and to support them and their families’ for life.

It is the most amazing place, with top care and support, full of opportunities providing education, training, sport and adventure in a relaxed, understanding and caring environment.

I sat down with residents to find out more about their experiences and the ways in which Help for Heroes run Recovery Centres have supported their families.

I also popped into an art class and toured the Phoenix Centre – an adaptive sports facility which was recently visited by HRH Prince Harry to mark the start of the Invictus Games selection process. It has tennis courts, a state of the art gym, pool and even a ski slope!

You can see exactly where all the fund-raising money goes, right there, helping ill and injured service men and women get better, and find ways to adapt to life. It was a truly inspiring visit and I can’t wait to get more involved with Help for Heroes charity.

We left around 4pm to head back to London, caught our train and I took advantage of the down time by perusing some bridal magazines, yes – I’m starting to look for ‘THE Dress’

I know what I want, but I can’t say otherwise it will spoil the surprise!

I checked out dresses from the Met Ball

I also checked out all the dresses from the Met Gala 2014 for some inspiration, I loved Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker in De La Renta and her up ‘do with the flowers in her hair (very Carrie!), Rachel McAdams’ in that elegant understated pink dress, Blake Lively also in a nudey pink dress but with the sweeping cape at the back and Charlize Theron’s monochrome gown with the tux jacket over her shoulders was SOOOOOooooo stylish and cool!

I have to say I wasn’t sure about the cut or style of Kim K’s dress as it didn’t really enhance her fab curves, but I did like the deep blue on her. I also wasn’t too sure about Zoe Saldana’s dress with the big poufy lampshade style skirt. It looked a bit odd!

The following day was another early start with the High Street Fashion Awards live links in Manchester. I really enjoyed filming in the Arndale (where I actually do a lot of my shopping!).

After filming I had about 30 mins to kill so I popped in to Chanel to lust over their handbags. I have ALWAYS wanted a Chanel bag and THIS would be the day that I finally got one!

I was given a Selfridges voucher from the cast of Coronation Street as one of my leaving presents and put this towards – THIS BEAUT!

Honestly I was having butterflies when I went to the counter, I did look at others but I figured this one would be the most practical as black goes with everything, I can fit loads in it like a make-up bag, scripts, diary and plenty more (erm, Chanel purse maybe pahahaha!), plus it’s sturdy and I can wear it over my shoulder. This was THE BEST end to a great week! THANK YOU to my friends in Weatherfield for helping me get this beautiful bag.
