A short trip back to the UK, fun with friends and my latest beauty must-haves…
I’m baccccccckkk!!!!! Sorry it’s taken SO long to write my blog. I kept making notes for it but since being home I have been so busy, it’s been hard to find the time to write it properly.
So I came back to England for a couple of weeks off – and to greet me at Manchester Airport were some family members, including my mum who had brought my beloved sausage dog Phoebe. I have missed them all SO much.
On the way back to Irlam in the car she fell asleep resting on my arm, it was such a cute moment.
There hasn’t been any time for rest and putting my feet up, it has been go go go every day!
I have had 8 photo shoots in 14 days – which is a bit of a record for me…
First off, I arrived back on a Saturday, saw my mum, then went to my dad’s and on the Sunday I attended the christening of Zac my dear friend Robyn’s son – in my new and proudest role to date – his Godmother!
Then I had to travel down south that night to start work on the Monday in London – I had two shoots for Revlon and the rest were for a very exciting new project but I can’t tell you anything about it yet – sorry!
The Revlon shoot pictures are super cool, and will be published around Halloween and Christmas time.
I had to do the shoot now because I am away again filming more for Our Girl on the other side of the world so this was the only opportunity.
Products I am loving!
L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary oil, leave in cream. This stuff is very good. I used it in South Africa to keep my hair moisturised and feeling healthy.
Coco Chanel – I picked this up in the airport – it’s always been a favourite fragrance of mine, and I wanted to wear a summery fragrance while back on home soil (even though it’s chucked it down most of the time!)
I am filming in a hot climate again now so decent skincare for this trip is a must. Clarins is one of my all time faves and boy have I stocked up for this next filming stretch. You have got to wear a decent SPF on your face and body in the sun.
After filming in sunshine my lips got pretty dry and chapped so I have slathering on this Rodial lip balm, I also put it on before I apply any lipstick or gloss.
I also love this Kiehls ‘Ultra Facial’ daily moisturiser, it is light and non-greasy, gives you 24-hour protection and a great one to wear under makeup too.
Every morning on the way to the all these photo shoots I have been sticking these Rodial eye patches under my eyes, they are amazing at cooling and de-puffing your eyes.
Mine tend to get a bit swollen in the morning, especially if it’s an early start (takes a while for my face to wake up basically) and these really help.
After 15 mins they leave my eyes leaving soothed bright and refreshed. http://www.rodial.co.uk/dragons-blood-eye-masks-1
I’m trying out loads of shampoo and conditioner right now, and my faves are the Windle and Moodie and its matching conditioner. Its sulphate free, smells very fresh and leaves my hair feeling strong and smooth. http://www.windleandmoodie.com/hairproducts/shop/nourishing-treatment-shampoo/
I also adore this set by Bumble and Bumble which is great for dry hair, because you can wash your hair with it every day and it doesn’t matter as it’s very gentle but ultra moisturising.
This Oribe texturising spray is very impressive. A stylist was using it on a photo shoot and I couldn’t believe how big my hair went with it! It gives loads of extra volume and body. It’s not cheap I think a big bottle is like £50 but it made a huge difference to my hair. https://www.oribe.comwww.oribe.com
Another decent texturising spray is this ‘Working Texture Spray by Show London, this one smells really good, and gives similar results, but it is much more affordable.
One of the other shoots I did was set in a boxing gym – in the East end of London – Repton Boys boxing club. Mark’s granddad and uncles used to train there so that was a cool thing to do.
Then after that I thought I was going away to Mallorca with Mark because he had a gig there, but little did I know that a big surprise party had been planned for me!
So we flew over, and I thought I would just chill at the pool while Mark was DJing, so when we got there and checked in I walked out to to the pool area and got a huge shock to discover my brother, cousin and my group of girlfriends were waiting for me!
We had the best weekend! It felt like I had gone back 10 years and celebrating my 20th not my 30th ahahah!
We sat round the pool during the day listening to music and playing pool games with the girls and then in the evening we went to Portals as a big group and watched all the super yachts come in at sunset.
One of the nights down at the port I wore a lovely summery dress I bought from www.rbonline.com – isn’t it cute!
Also I found this fab beach clutch bag in a little boutique in Mallorca. So usually when I am at the beach I pack a massive shoulder bag full of stuff I hardly ever use.
The towels are nearly always usually there at the pool so no need to take one, and as long as I have sunglasses, suncream, phone and some lip balm then I am good to go! I’m very pleased with this find and it goes great with my crochet dress.
I also love these cute crochet and beaded shorts for a summer holiday! They look very girly with a crop top or over a swimming costume and you can get them from her website. www.withlovejessica.com
Thanks to all my friends for making the weekend so very special.
When I came back from Mallorca I had a few more photo shoots, and then I spent some quality time with loved ones down in Essex.
Here I am about to leave my last shoot… that’s a wrap!
So, by the time you all read this I will be in Malaysia with the Our Girl cast and crew again. Exciting!
It was fab being home, and I’m looking forward to being back very soon!
Until next time.
All my love,
