Promo for Tina and Bobby, my favourite candles and new beauty must-haves
I have had a very busy week doing all the promo for Tina and Bobby, which starts tonight at 9pm on ITV1!
This is why it has taken me a while to be able to sit down and write my blog, I have been doing it in bits while travelling, and being sat waiting to do interviews.
First I need to backtrack on the blog and tell you what I got up to around New Year…
So, I spent New Year’s Eve in… Exeter!
Mark had a couple of personal appearances there so myself, my cousin Kate, her boyfriend Tony and a few of our other mates came along – we stayed at a really nice spa hotel however I wasn’t very well, (with a bad cold) so spent most of the early evening having a cat nap, then dosed myself up with some medication, and went out with the troop a bit later on.
I wore one of my Lipsy ‘LBD’ dresses to see the New Year in.
I didn’t drink as I wasn’t feeling like it, but the atmosphere in the bars were great.
The following day I got a lift home and then spent the next few days taking it easy, and trying out some lovely candle products that have been sent for me to review for you all. A definite perk of having a blog to write for HELLO!
I lit a few different candles and left them to burn in various rooms in the house, over a couple of days, to see which smells really lasted and which ones smelt the best.
I absolutely love this one by Sandy Bay London – it’s called Persian Rose. I had it burning for about 6 hours and the smell filled our hallway and landing, when I checked the candle hardly any of it had burned away either so it is great value for money.
It smells quite exotic and luxurious with oudh, rose, patchouli and cedar wood and it is £25 from http://www.sandybaylondon.com. I could still smell the scent of this candle as I walked in to the hallway the following day!
If you like the smell of oudh but want something that costs less then I suggest Sanctuary candles. I didn’t even know they did them but they have a range of 7 or so different scented candles and they are a decent size – and sell for £10 – this oudh one also has Saffron in it. It made my room smell really nice but it did burn a lot quicker than the Sandy Bay one. The packaging is really pretty for a gift for someone female too. http://www.sanctuary.com
I lit a Neom Organics ‘Tranquility’ candle in my bedroom about 3 hours before I went to bed and when I walked in I felt very relaxed. The room smelled of sweet lavender and jasmine so really fresh, and I soon drifted off to sleep (I blew it out first of course!). These retail with one wick for £30, again a nice present and it burned really slowly. http://www.neomorganics.com
And finally, I had to mention Jo Malone candles. Their range of scents is amazing and I tend to treat some of my close friends with Jo Malone candles and perfumes at Christmas.
I lit the Green Tomato Leaf home candle in the kitchen and left it to burn for a few hours and when I went back in the room was flooded in a super fresh leaf and slightly berry fragrance that lasted for ages. This is the priciest candle of the four at £42 but it smells very luxurious and clean, reminded me a bit of a lovely greenhouse smell. I will be getting this one again for sure! www.jomalone.co.uk
So, back to this week, as I said it’s been lots of interviews and promo for Tina and Bobby which I am so excited about you all seeing it, please tweet me and tell me what you think – @michkeegan.
I went on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid and I was looking forward to this interview. Unfortunately I was running very late that day with the tube strikes causing a knock on effect with the traffic into London, so I got to the studios with literally 3 mins to go.
I thought the interview had actually been cancelled but as soon as the lift doors opened, I had make up artists getting me ready, and I was ushered to the couch straight away!
I was in such a rush I had forgotten to brush my hair – hence the bed head look…
There’s no way I wasn’t going to do the interview, I was there to speak about a drama I am very proud to have worked on, and despite the rush to get there, I really enjoyed the interview with Piers and Susanna. Thanks for having me on!
My new beauty must haves…
Rodial bronzing powder – this is my fave contouring powder of the moment. It hasn’t got red pigment in it, it’s very matte, with a brown grey undertone, which is great for my skin colour giving subtle shadows.
I use it under my cheekbones, around my hair line and also I have used it a bit as an eyeshadow, but only in my eye sockets for a teeny bit of definition, and this looks very natural with a slick of mascara and a thin eyeliner.
All in all a great all round product to have, especially if you have olive skin.
I have been using the Urban Decay palette as I go from interview to interview this week – it’s got a glowy highlighter, a peachy shimmer blush and a light shimmery bronze too.
Perfect for giving a bit of a glow to catch the light. Don’t put too much on though during the day! A little goes a long way!
I also did a great new photo shoot with Revlon this week,I love this matte lippy we used on the shoot, and have been wearing it every day since.
Here I am getting my clip in extensions put in by Charlie who is a fab hairdresser I have worked with before.
We used clip ins to add volume and length to my hair for the images. There’s loads of brands doing clip in extensions, I tend to use BeautyWorks https://beautyworksonline.com/ or Windle and Moodie http://www.windleandmoodie.com/hairproducts/shop/ for shoots or nights out, as they look the most natural.
Oh, and I must show you these tres sexy shoes I have acquired this week from Miss K G.
I will be wearing them out with plain black jeans, white t shirt and a leather jacket.
Anyway, must dash as I have a bit more press to do.
Lots to fill you in on for next week, until then.
Lots of love,
