Christmas shopping, Tina and Bobby screening and girls night out in Essex
Hope you are all well.
So this week I have been doing more Christmas prepping, first off I must show you a photo of our beautiful tree. I’m so proud of it ! Phoebe (pictured) likes to sit under it and keep guard.
To do the majority of my Christmas shopping I went into London with Mark and some of his family, and we had a fun and productive day out!
We kept mainly to to the big stores on and around Oxford Street, and enjoyed whole day checking out the shops and buying lots of gifts.
After a full day of retail therapy though we treated ourselves to a much deserved glass of champers. And why not!
I decided to wear lowish boots for all the traipsing around – and these new patent ankle boots with the black toe cap from Zara were perfect because they were comfortable but still looked good.
As it was pretty mild out I decided to wear this FIT leather jacket by Comino Couture.
The black leather is super soft and it is the kind of jacket that will last a lifetime. Comino Couture Textured Real Leather Biker Jacket.
It looks quite like a Balmain jacket I think, especially with the gold hardware, but it doesn’t have the Balmain price tag. You can get it here:
Sadly my enthusiasm for shopping was short lived, as I have spent the rest of the week with a bad cold, so instead of doing more shopping in the shops, I did a bit more online and spent the rest of my time in my comfies, having hot lemon drinks and loads of vitamins, testing beauty products for you all and, of course….. watching Christmas films!
I watched Elf and Santa Claus and a few cookery programmes including some recorded Bake Off’s I had missed but were still on my planner. I know, I am such a geek!
While lounging around at home I decided to make some thing hearty and healthy to eat so I rustled up this homemade chicken soup.
It tasted delicious, and I like to think it aided my recovery.
Oooh I must talk about the Tina and Bobby trailer. Have you seen it?
It was shown for the first time this week. Exciting! The three parter starts on January 13th 2017 on ITV1, so make sure you tune in and tweet me and tell me what you think…
This week I have seen the first two episodes out of the three, at a private screening with just cast and crew including the director, producers etc.
We had a really good time, it was great to see the team again.
This talented little girl is called Harper and she plays Roberta my daughter in the production.
The elegant lady in the chic black and white dress is Tina Moore.
By the end of the week I was feeling a lot better, so it was girls night! Woohoo… I didn’t want to miss that!
Jess and Tally (Mark’s sisters), my cousin Kate and I started off at Sheesh which is our favourite place to eat in Essex, the food never disappoints.
We enjoyed tasy garlic mushrooms, calamari, halloumi cheese, salads chicken skewers, and of course – the Sheesh truffle chips.
For our night out I wore a LBD from my Lipsy Collection.
Lipsy Love Michelle Keegan High Neck Belted Knit Dress
You can get it here and I think its a bit of a classic piece.
It has a sheer black net overlay on the chest and it comes with a black and gold belt.
I love this dress because it’s high necked which is good for these chilly winter nights and its very ladylike and can be styled and mixed with so many different kinds of colours and accessories. It’s also quite a woolly material so it does keep you warm.
Products I’m loving…
This Nars concealer is fantastic for my skin tone and covers just about anything.
The colour I wear is called ‘custard’ but I can assure you, it is not bright yellow!
Nars is in most big department stores or you can more info on the brand here: http://narscosmetics.co.uk
I use it underneath my eyes and it has a slightly yellowy tone to it which takes any redness away. Perfect for people who are partying a lot over Christmas!
I blend the Custard with Barcelona which is the colour of the Nars ‘illuminating foundation’ I swear by.
It’s very lightweight on your skin, but gives flawless coverage especially if you apply it with a proper foundation brush or sponge.
I still love the Cassie Lomas foundation brush called ‘Hubby’ which is a smaller than average flat foundation brush.
I also use this brush to apply my Benefit Posie Tint to my cheeks for a subtle healthy pink glow.
For more info on this brush and others that Cassie has in her collection, go to http://www.cassielomas.com/blog/2016/5/18/cassie-lomas-brush-guide
If I don’t use Nars I love using Benefit Concealer and when you have dark circles under your eyes or any redness on your skin then I suggest Benefit ‘Boing’.
This is one of their heavy weight concealers and it comes in 5 colours. I tend to use numbers 3 and 5 on my skin and can also do some light contouring with these handy pots. Its about £17.50 and one pot will last about 6 months if you use it a lot so its well worth it.
I rate this palette by Estee Lauder, with warm bronzey tones – it works so well on my eyes.
I am really impressed with it and there isn’t a duff colour in the palette like you can sometimes get. They are all really flattering and combine well. I can do a really heavy warm bronze smokey eye with this palette or just slick on one of the peachier colours for more of a day look to add a bit of definition.
And finally, this mascara by Revlon does everything and it’s such value for money.
One sweep of my lashes and I’m done, no need for 3 or 4 coats! A must have for your handbag ladies.
So next weekend will be Christmas! The most wonderful time of the year! I Look forward to updating you all then :-)
Lots of love,
