Wrapping on Tina and Bobby and filming out in Mallorca

Hi everyone,

Did you all enjoy the bank holiday? I can’t believe we are already into September.

Only 3 months till Christmas! My mum has already started a countdown ha ha! We love Christmas :-)

So this bank hol I was lucky enough to spend it in one of my favourite places in the whole world – Mallorca !!! woo hoo! Some proper sunshine!

Before I went away I had the last few filming days to complete for Tina and Bobby.

The scenes we had to do were some of the most interesting ones, but the last two days we flew out to Mallorca (yes that’s why I ended up there for a holiday, I just stayed on..)

We stayed in Palma which was amazing. I have been here many times before over the years and I never get bored of this beautiful and historical city. Not to to mention the sunshine.

I shot my calendar in nearby Pollensa a couple of years ago, and even did a gorgeous HELLO! fashion shoot in old Palma a couple of summers ago. I often visit the island with Mark, even if it’s just for a weekend away or a trip over with some girlfriends. There is so much to see and do, and the flight is so short… It can take me longer to drive from Manchester to London sometimes!

Anyway back to the UK, and on the last day of filming we got a ice cream van to come on set and the cast and crew all enjoyed some 99’s…. it was a nice way to finish, a lovely way to end a great shoot.

unnamed5The very next morning we flew to Mallorca and stayed in a 70’s style hotel near Palma which was fun.

When we are in the airport we walked past the magazine stands and one of them had a cover of Bobby Moore on it and I had to stop and take a picture, because of the coincidence. It was a nice moment!

The only slight downside to the schedule, was the VERY early starts, as we had to catch sunrise for filming and I had to have hair and make-up first.

Anyone who knows me well, knows I am not exactly an early riser, but I have to say, this project has really helped me with my ability to get up early. Not sure how long it will last though!

This picture of me sat on the railings with Lorne/Bobby is from the 80’s time of the story. I love this white dress, big shades and the bouncy blonde bob it’s such a good look. Very Marilyn Monroe …

I can’t tell you what this picture means in relation to the filming though – you will have to watch Tina and Bobby, my lips are sealed!

Obviously I am in the sun filming for long periods of time so I have got to make sure I have adequate sun protection. I have been slathering on Sisley http://www.sisley-paris.com Sauper Soin Milky Body Mist SPF 30 and at night I have been using the Clarins – Multi Active Nuit face cream – it is meant to really help combat the first signs of ageing.

unnamed15

You only need a pea sized blob of this rich antioxidant packed cream for your face and another for your neck. It glides on and leaves my skin feeling super smooth. There is a day cream too – Multi Active Jour – which is much lighter in consistency if you are not a fan of rich night creams. For more info go to http://www.clarins.co.uk/

After we wrapped the filming, everyone ran and JUMPED in the pool, and that night we visited an American style diner and enjoyed burgers, chips and quite a few drinkies (well, it was a wrap party!)

My first drink to celebrate the wrapping of Tina and Bobby was, of course, my favourite cocktail in the sunshine – a Pina Colada. It was FIT!

This top that says ‘I Do It For My Mamma’ I got from Zara in Spain last week . Cute isn’t it?

unnamed11

I bought it to wear with jeans and white trainers. Dead simple.

I have had SO many messages about this outfit on Twitter, remember I told you i had bought it from Zara? I teamed it with these nude strappy sandals from Stuart Weitzman (American shoe designer)

unnamed12

I wore it for our Saturday night out.

We went to a really special venue called Cap Rocat.

It is an old Spanish military fortress, and the restaurant within the complex called “The Fortress” is perfect spot on the island to watch the sun set.

I had Calamari and Tomato and Mozzarella salad. Mark had a big T bone steak that was cooked on a stone in front of us (smelt amazing as this was cooking away) and I had grilled squid which was delish.

unnamed13

Cheers!

It was very hot that evening, and neither of us felt like wine, so we had 2 elderflower spritz cocktails instead which hit the spot perfectly. The website is http://www.caprocat.com

What a pretty sunset

So aside from this I have been enjoying the fine weather, taking long walks on the beach, and enjoying lots of tapas. Who could ask for more?!

Next week I will tell you more about my Spanish mini-break and also all about the Our Girl launch in London. I won’t be going to the TV Choice Awards in London on Monday as I have lots of Our Girl promo to do. I’m so proud of the episodes, can’t wait for you to see it !

It starts BBC1 Wednesday 7th at 9pm.

Until next week,

Lots of love

Michelle xxx
