Dinner in Manchester and the read through for Tina and Bobby
Hi everyone !!!!!
So, Our Girl 2 has wrapped!
After a 4 month long shoot… I can’t quite believe it is all over. What an fantastic project it has been and I am so grateful to everyone single cast and crew member who worked on the series.
One of the last days shooting was at an airfield on the outskirts of Manchester, which was fun however unfortunately didn’t actually go up in the planes, nor fly them either.
The last scenes we did were round this pretty lake…
I was pretty proud to be allowed to do the clapper board for the last take of the series. This sounds a bit geeky but it has really been a wonderful project for me and this signified a very happy ending for us all.
On the Saturday evening, Mark joined me up in Manchester and we had a lovely ‘date night’ at our favourite place in the city – Australasia.
It is classed as modern Australian cuisine – a real mix of Indonesian and Asian influences with classic Australian dishes.
The decor is light, spacious and the booths have the comfiest seats ever …. not only do we love the sushi, we also get stuck into the cocktails. The lychee and rose martini’s are very fit and Mark loved the Asian mules.
If you pay Australasia a visit you must check out the space age DJ console too. It is next to reception as you arrive, and looks like a prop from Star Trek!
I had lots of compliments about the outfit I wore that night.
The whole look is by yours truly! It’s my up and coming Lipsy collection which I’m very excited about. I think this collection is really strong and I can’t wait for you guys to see the rest of it.
The white laced top with the romantic long sleeves looked great paired up with the leather look leggings!
I kept the accessories really simple… I wore a black choker from Topshop and hooped earrings from Toppers too.
Now, usually when the weather starts getting sunnier and warmer, I tend to invest in a new pair of sunnies. It’s like tradition and tends to happen when I am bored at duty free waiting to board a flight to wherever.
However I don’t need to do that at the moment because my sister-in-law Jessica has given me these – how cool?! You can get them from here: http://withlovejessica.com/index.php?rout
I love the shape, and the rose colour gives a great pop to an outfit.
Last week I told you all about my new role, well I have literally had 2 days off with Mark and my family (Saturday was Australasia and Sunday was a family lunch in Cheshire), then I started on project Tina and Bobby.
I had the all important read through on Monday which is always so daunting as we have to read all 3 episodes with all the ITV producers, commissioners the writers all in 1 room!
Although it’s a very nerve racking experience it was great to hear the scripts come to life, I’m very excited for this project as it’s something totally different to what I’ve ever done before as its set in the 60’s. Can’t wait to start filming.
The clothing for the drama is 60’s to late 80’s. On Tuesday I went to meet costume and had some fittings and the one thing I noticed is the fashion back in the 60’s was so much more feminine than it is now… Women would tend to wear colourful dresses or skirts and matching jackets…
Beauty must haves
Last few days I haven’t been filming anything so I haven’t really been wearing any make-up, but I have been trying some products out.
This is really good – the Rodial Acid Rush Peel. Wow my skin was super smooth after using it.
I have also been using a lot of this scrub – it’s thicker in consistency than some scrubs. I used to really like ones that you feel as those you are taking a layer of skin off when you scrub away, but they can scratch you, if you do it too hard!
This one by Origins – Never A Dull Moment is softer and my skin feels quite moisturized after using it.
I have been trying this contour bronzer too by Contour Cosmetics. Now this one isn’t really for the day time. It is SUPER shimmery and best suited to night time highlighting, gives a nice J-LO glow!
Before I sign off for the week I must say congrats to two fab make-up artists I know who are based in the North called Collette Casey and Tally Bookbinder they have just opened their own make-up academy called: Pro MakeUp Academy.
They had an bit of a bash to launch their gorgeous venue in Saddleworth, but I couldn’t go because I had a rehearsal for Tina and Bobby. Congrats ladies and good luck with your new venture.
Until next week,
All my love
