Sexy Single Eyeshadows from Nars and Ardency Inn
I’m a huge eyeshadow fan. I mean, obviously I’m a huge everything fan and that’s why I write a beauty blog but eyeshadow is really one of my happy places. For the last couple of years, I’ve been a palette purchaser. Single shadows seemed to go out of fashion a bit and the little cases became big cases and they took up so much room and were so expensive for so little and well, there were a lot of nice palettes, okay? Bare Minerals Power Neutrals, Nars ‘And God Created Woman’, Smashbox Masterclass (one and two), Urban Decay Naked (one and two and three, sweet Jesus I have a problem) but I DIGRESS.
Recently I’ve been on a bit of a single shadow binge. A lot of brands have new formulas and colours in the market and they’re gorgeous. Armani, Make Up Forever and have all been tempting me over to their stands in Sephora and Revlon have some new puppies out in the drugstore. Not actual puppies, I’m still talking about eyeshadows. I love the new Marc Jacobs Twinkle Sticks and Jouer Long Wear Creme Mousse shadows but we’ll get to both of those at a later date. Today, I’m talking powder and powder only.
The first brand I want to talk about is Ardency Inn. AI lives in Sephora in the states so you can order the Modster Manuka Honey Enriched Pigments online and if you like pigment-packed shadows in cute magnetic cases with a definite mod vibe going on, you will do so. I love these shadows, they remind me a little of Urban Decay’s single shadows but since they’re newer, they feel cooler. I am a fickle woman. The texture of the product is insanely soft, thanks to Manuka honey and high grade silicone waxes but the real star is the pigment – up to 78% depending on which shade you buy. They’re soft, they’re intense and they stay in place. I love them and am well on my way to collecting the entire set.
My other new love are the Nars Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows. I know it’s a shock to no one that I love me some Nars, the sexy rubberised packaging, the sleek design of the font, the magnets, the soft close case, mmm. If I could have an affair with one make up brand, it would be Nars. The whole thing would be very sexy and sophisticated. Sorry, I got off track. Anyway, these shadows are fantastic. The product feels incredibly lightweight on the eye and can be brushed on dry for a subtle shimmer or layered on wet for an incredibly dramatic effect. I like to pop it on dry over a cream eyeshadow, that way you get the intensity and the shimmer and that sucker isn’t going anywhere. This was the shadow I wore on my birthday a couple of weeks ago and when I finally got home at five am (HAHAHHAA, I’m still hungover) the eyeshadow was still there. I was so impressed, I texted my friend. She didn’t appreciate it.
BUT IT’S OKAY BECAUSE I KNOW YOU DO.
