I’ve passed my Post Office exams!
So I haven’t blogged for HELLO! in what feels like forever… The last time I posted was when I returned from my trip to Lapland with Monarch. Since then I have been filming in Tenerife and Spain, I am redeveloping Hamilton’s Hotspots (my travel/lifestyle website) that will relaunch in March, I’ve become a Post Mistress after passing my Post Office exams, and I am renovating a flat, a house and opening a post office/coffee shop and deli for my community.
I have been renovating properties since I was 19 years old but I have never done anything quite like this… Bringing back the Post Office for my community is extremely rewarding and it has certainly been fun tasting all the produce for the shop and choosing a coffee supplier. There is SO much choice and SO much to learn, I actually feel that sometimes my head is going to explode. I’ve been interviewing staff and have felt like I am on a talent judging panel which has been strange. Today I’ve even completed a food safety course with some of the staff we have recruited to ensure we get a 5 star rating from environmental health! I’ve put a huge amount of pressure on myself to create something that I hope my community and my family and children will be proud of AND I haven’t made it easy by giving myself a deadline to open the shop by the 10th of April. It’s pretty annoying that February is a short month…
If you are interested in following the progress you can find out more about it on the website www.lordrobertsonthegreen.com and follow us on Instagram and Twitter. We will even have an online shop where you can order a cream tea by post.
As well as my blog with HELLO! I’m now regularly writing for Monarch both online and in their on board magazines so if you are flying with Monarch you may well see me! I will keep you informed when the new Hamilton’s Hotspots launches but in the meantime you can still win flights if you subscribe to the site.
I’m actually taking a break from filming A Place in the Sun for a few weeks now whilst I am focusing on getting Lord Roberts on The Green up and running.
If all goes to plan I should be able to share some photos of the finished space with you in about a month.
Before I sign off I want to give a big shout out to fellow HELLO! blogger and mummy of two Giovanna Fletcher on her new book ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby’. I am absolutely loving it. It is perfect bedtime and extremely relatable. I can’t recommend it enough to fellow working mummies. Congrats Gi!
Until next time.
