Pirate Parties, Photoshoots, Pet friendly cinemas and Pushchairs…
Nothing beats the smell of a new baby and a couple of my friends have recently welcomed new babies into the world so congratulations Emily and Nicky! Rocco and Tahlia sadly no longer have that new baby smell but I’ve managed to find the most amazing smelling products in the form of Mustela that almost recreate it.
Mustela is a French product that has been around for over 60 years and I actually wished I’d discovered it sooner. I simply love the skin freshner spray that I use on Rocco and Tahlia as soon as they get out of the bath. The products are definitely worth trying out and can be purchased online.
So since my last blog post I’ve been visiting some great places in the UK. I was excited to be able to take the children back to Kidzania London. Located in Westfield, Kidzania is one of my favourite places to go to. It’s absolutely brilliant to see your little ones enjoying role play. Whether they want to dress up as a fire fighter, a pilot or work in a bank, there are so many ‘grown up’ jobs that they are able to try out. Everything is so realistic and it’s no surprise that Kidzania London is becoming one of the top attractions in the capital. I guarantee that even grown ups will enjoy it too.
Another beautiful place for grown ups to visit is Pitstone windmill in Leighton Buzzard. I actually visited this place on a photoshoot for a little job I’ve been doing finding hidden gem tourist spots in the UK and it was absolutely stunning; even more so when in typical British style, the weather changed, it started to rain and we saw a rainbow. Pitstone windmill is free to visit and a place where you can enjoy a lovely walk in the countryside come rain or shine!
And talking of walks and the countryside and thinking about places where you might take your dog, I went to the first ever pet friendly screening of ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ which was incredible. Imagine that, taking your dog to the cinema… well lots of people did and it was a huge success! The film has recently been released on the DVD and I enjoyed it as much as Rocco.
Following my visit to Kidzania, Pitstone Windmill and the pet friendly cinema screening, I had a party to organise. Two weeks ago Rocco was 3. I really can’t believe how quickly the time has flown and my little baby is a little boy. What he wanted most was a pirate cake and pirate party so I found some great little pirate party decorations online and he got his pirate birthday cake which didn’t last very long.
Then it was one party after another because last weekend we had a rather family celebration that will feature in Hello Magazine next week. Make sure you keep an eye out for it…
Right now though as I write this it’s pouring with rain, and that really was not what I was expecting in St Lucia. I’ve flown out a few days before I start filming because it usually takes the children 4 days to adjust. It’s the first trip that I’ve been able to try my new Baby Jogger City Stroller pushchair and I LOVE it. Collapsing into a backpack meant I was able to take it on the flight and put it in the overhead locker. This made life so much easier when I landed being able to put one of the children straight in to a pushchair. It’s really light too and easy to manoeuvre – so it’s another top product to travel with if you have a little one (or two).
Well that’s it from me for now. I’m not over the jet lag yet so I’m getting an early night.
