Family holiday to Tenerife and my charity ball

How are you all? I have lots to update you on!

My charity ball


Right before I went on my family vacation I had a big charity ball for Dot Com Foundation at the BT Tower, which was covered in HELLO! magazine. It was so great to dance this year because last year I couldn’t as I was pregnant. It’s always fun to put my dancing shoes and perform in front of the charity’s supporters! There were quite a few children in the audience, who use our charity services. Christopher Maloney sang on the night which was fantastic. I really just want to say again to everyone who was in the room and everyone who supports my charity and helped organise the event – a big thank you! It means a lot to me. I’ve been patron of the charity for seven years now and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported me. I know charity work isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I am really passionate about it. Family holiday in Tenerife

Then it was off for holiday time! The whole family went to Tenerife and it was so wonderful to spend good quality time with Ben’s mum, Ben’s girls, Ben’s brother and his family etc. Mila enjoyed the holiday too! It was extremely hot, about 26/28 degrees so of course I slathered factor 50 on her! She absolutely loved the beach, loved the water and loved the pool. It was a really lovely vacation together. Yes it was a bit challenging sometimes with so many kids to take care of, but it all worked at the end of the day and we had a blast! I definitely recommend Tenerife for families. There’s so much to do. We went to the local zoo, to a waterpark, tried loads of different food in the restaurants and it was really, really nice to have a break and have some sunshine!


Literally the day after I returned I had to get back into my dance costume for a photoshoot for my upcoming tour – watch this space! I can’t say who I’m dancing with yet or where the tour is going, but it’s very exciting! I was quite cautious on holiday about what I was eating and what I was doing because I knew I had this photoshoot… I was a little bit nervous so I made sure I went to the gym every morning with Ben, or I did a bit of yoga myself. As I mentioned before I’m doing my yoga teacher training at the moment. I have to learn the dialogue, the poses, and really go through everything every morning. The photoshoot was really lovely in the end, so watch this space as I’ll be announcing more news!

My new make-up discovery

I also have some make-up and beauty tips I wanted to share with you this week… I recently discovered an amazing airbrushing machine Mineral Air by celebrity make up artist Jo Sugar! It’s a 4 in 1 mineral make-up, smoothing primer, moisturiser and concealer. It gives you perfect, light coverage which is why I love using it during my dance show!  It absolutely blew my mind! The machine is also small and portable so you can carry it around in your bag. It’s the first cordless airbrush machine which gives professional results and it’s easy enough for anyone to use. I normally wear make-up every day because I go out and meet people or I’m teaching people and I want to look good. I’m also thinking ahead about going on tour and putting on make-up every day. I’m looking for a better way to look after my skin and with this machine, it’s amazing because you put on your make-up and do the airbrush and then when you need to top up, it just feels weightless. The airbrush technology means my skin can breathe which is exactly what I need. I tried it for my charity ball and it really stayed on my skin throughout the whole night, while I was performing and while I was having dinner. I was really impressed and I normally have a very oily T-zone but the shine didn’t come through at all. I totally recommend it and I just thought, I have to tell the world about this! Working out

We’re going into summer time now and as I’ve said before, I’m very conscious about my body weight. My yoga teacher training is helping me stay in shape, but actually it’s more about philosophy and not that much physical training. It’s just one little aspect of the whole training. So I am a bit conscious about how much physical exercise I’m doing! I’m still doing my buggy workouts in the park and going for jogs, as it’s a bit warmer now. I’m still treating the buggy like my ballet barre. So watch this space – maybe I’ll do another workout video for you, especially the other mums out there!

As always I’m going to say that dancing is the best way to loose weight and get in shape. At the moment I’m teaching a lot as it’s wedding season and I do loads of first wedding dances. I totally love choreographing those and creating something special for my couples! I also have couples coming to me for dance lessons just to adopt a new hobby together! I think it’s really great! I’m off to LA next week. I’m so excited. I’m seeing my best friend, she lives in Seattle but we’re meeting in LA. I can’t wait for our girly catch up time and the sunny weather. It’ll be a very quick getaway but I’m really looking forward to it! I’ll also be watching Dancing with the Stars and seeing Len Goodman and my other Strictly friends – I can’t wait!
