Getting ready for Christmas with my huge bump!
I love Christmas, it’s my favourite time of the year so I got my decorations up nice and early at home. It was a little bit more challenging than usual trying to do it with the bump but they’re up and the house looks so cosy and Christmassy. Obviously climbing up ladders was strictly off limits so Justin did all the lights but I managed to do everything else. Putting the baubles on the tree was pretty tricky, I had to be careful not to knock the tree over with my huge bump! It was quite comical really but Bobby’s reaction was just brilliant, he ran up to the tree and pretended to hug it and said “I love it!” I also got him a dancing Christmas tree which plays “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” which he is loving this year too so he’s definitely embracing Christmas like his mum. I’ve also pretty much finished all my Christmas shopping and wrapped everything so I’m ready for baby to arrive now!
I really wanted to have a Christmassy family day out with Bobby before the baby arrives so Justin and I took him to Lapland UK along with my sister, brother-in-law and their two boys Billy and Alfie. My sister is also pregnant and is only a few weeks behind me which is so lovely so we didn’t wanna leave it too close to Christmas just in case one of our babies decided to make an early arrival! It was such a magical day, we really felt like we were in a proper winter wonderland. The kids iced gingerbread men with Mother Christmas, stroked husky dogs, saw reindeer and of course met Father Christmas!
I wasn’t sure if Bobby would appreciate it cos he’s so young but he really loved it. He’s never seen snow so it was lovely to see him get so excited and he was running around in the snow trying to make snowballs. He loves The Snowman so I’m really hoping we get some real snow this year so I can build one with him, he would love it so much. They do a real build up to meeting Father Christmas at Lapland UK so I was worried Bobby would be over it by the time he finally met him but he was mesmerised. He was chatting away to him with his cousins and told him he wants a guitar for Christmas. My nephews were so in awe too, they’re a bit older – 3 and 5, so they were totally hanging on every word he said. It was so cute to watch. Definitely a fab, Christmassy day out for all the family.
I had my last venture into town last week for Justin’s daughter Chloe’s 18th birthday! I cannot believe she is 18 now. Chloe was five when I first met her and it feels like yesterday. We wanted to take her out for a birthday meal so we went to a pan-Asian restaurant called Chotto Matte in Soho. The food and atmosphere is lovely there. We had a great night but I have to say I was well and truly ready for my bed when we got home. We had a lovely few days with her. Bobby adores his big sis and had been practising singing “Happy Birthday to Chloe” all week, bless him, so he was very happy when he finally got to sing it to her. We made some gingerbread reindeer cookies which was fun and she helped me put up Christmas Tree number two. We had a lovely few days and Bobby always hates it when she goes but she’ll be back down as soon as baby arrives so not too long.
As I’m pretty close to my due date now I’m gonna be signing off for a while but hopefully I’ll be back once baby number 2 is settled in. Till then, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, mine is gonna be eventful that’s for sure!
