The McFly Tour Kicks Off!
This week Tom and the McFly boys kicked off their tour in Manchester for three nights before heading to Glasgow. It was the first time they’d played together as a four piece since I was pregnant with Buzz, thanks to the McBusted adventure taking over, so it was a pretty special gig!
The original plan was for me to take both the boys on tour, but that set up became a bit trickier when the original June dates got pushed back. Buddy can now sit and crawl, so gone are the easily contained newborn days, and Buzz has his own needs and requirements that would make life on the road a bit more challenging. Plus, let’s not forget that my little niece Summer Rae has arrived and living at our house with my sister and brother in law, so it wasn’t as easy to tag along this time round so we sadly opted out (although I am hoping to go along to some of the shows next week!).
I must say that Monday night, their first night, was a weird one for me. After I’d done the bedtime routine and tucked both boys into their beds (sounds far more idyllic than the reality), I was hit with a wave of excitement, pride and sorrow. Having been on the McFly journey since the beginning, it was weird not to be there for what was effectively their ‘comeback’ gig. I seriously felt like I was missing out… So you can imagine my excitement when they were suddenly live on Facebook for the first song. I was bursting with happiness. I might’ve only seen them backstage and then heard the first song of the set, but it was enough. I was there. I loved it!
Also this week…
…I had a photoshoot for something I’m not allowed to talk about yet, although I do want to reference the shoot as it was a little different to what I’m used to (no, not topless – haaaaa). I was apprehensive at how I’d manage in a setting that seemed more stylish, edgy and cool than I’m used to – but I loved it. The team were fab. It was just a gentle reminder that sometimes being pushed out of my comfort zone is a very good thing. More on that at a later date…
…I’ve had a nightmare with the bedtime routines, but I think I’m on the verge of cracking it. I think… Waaaaah!
…it’s my focused fortnight in the Zoella Book Club, so lots of people have been reading Billy and Me and then discussing it. Incredibly exciting! Thanks to everyone who’s taken part and joined in with it all. I love that people are reading more as a result.
So, the sun has gone and left us, but roll on jumping in crispy Autumn leaves once the rain has gone!
