Donna Air’s autumn picks!
Autumn’s well and truly here, so this week’s picks from our contributing style editor are warm and wonderfully chic
THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION: Ulla Johnson
Obsession is certainly the word when it comes to American designer Ulla Johnson. I love the autumn/winter collection. Feminine, flirty and versatile, it’s wearable and at a great price point. I’m already coveting this apron maxidress from pre-spring 2017. Find a selection of the current season’s collection at irisfashion.co.uk.
BEAUTY MUST-HAVE
There’s nothing more annoying than having to scrub away at your eye make-up. This new cleansing product from Hylamide is super quick to use and you don’t wake up with smudged eyes. Panda circles be gone!
Hylamide High-Efficiency Face Cleaner, £19, lookfantastic.com
FASHION QUEST: A cosy jumper
The balloon sleeves on this jumper from Warehouse lift it from a staple winter warmer to something a little more stylish, and it looks a lot more expensive than it is. Definitely in my basket, along with a few other items from the store.
Bell sleeve mohair jumper, £55, Warehouse, warehouse.co.uk
CHEAP AND CHIC: Mary Janes
These tweed Mary Janes look very Chanel, would team well with tailored trousers and give jeans an instant upgrade. Wear with bare feet while the weather holds and then with opaques and a miniskirt for a chic winter look.
Kingdon flat ballerina shoes, £99, KG Kurt Geiger, kurtgeiger.com
HOME MUST-HAVE: Love linen tablecloth
Whether you’re throwing a family dinner or meal for two, this tablecloth would look lovely strewn with coloured glassware and yummy food. Available with different hand-painted words, you can choose your cloth to suit your event.
I recommend getting up on a chair or stepladder to photograph the full effect.
Love linen tablecloth in claret red, £375, Summerill & Bishop, summerillandbishop.com
INSTAGRAM OF THE WEEK: My daughter’s birthday
The last weekend of London Fashion Week falls on my daughter’s birthday so it’s always an action-packed couple of days.
This year was particularly special because she turned 13 and we had a fun-filled Mexican party with piñatas. Then it was on to the shows. Highlights included Mulberry and Charlotte Olympia, who had chorus girls dancing with inflatable bananas!
