Donna’s autumn must-haves!
With autumn lurking, our contributing style editor gives us the lowdown on the new-season items she’s coveting!
THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION: CO-ORDS
After the holidays, you want to make an impression when you waltz back into the office. I love this co-ord set from Whistles – it’s great for mixing and matching and is fab with a roll-neck or skinny jeans. Oh, and perfect with mid-heel loafers…
Foulard knitted T-shirt, £95;
Foulard jacquard knit skirt, £110, Whistles
CHEAP & CHIC: MID-HEEL LOAFERS
This is my ideal heel height – just enough to boost your confidence but also very comfy for running around in and definitely doesn’t look out of place going for dinner or drinks. I can honestly say I would be lost without my mid-heel loafers – they are a genuine wardrobe transformer.
Jonak leather heeled loafers with tassels, £65,
FASHION QUEST: SPORTS WATCH
The Chelsea Truck Company makes fantastic watches. I love a burst of orange in the autumn but this is a watch for all year round. Really well made, a good price point and a lovely bold statement piece.
CTC Vesuvius watch, £460.85, Chelsea Truck Company; visit chelseatruckcompany.com
QUICK FIX: SCHOOL SPORTS KIT
I can’t believe it’s back to school time already – where did the holidays go? Term time is here and that kit bag needs sorting. I’m stocking up on Adidas and Nike bits from the super-speedy online kids’ boutique alexandalexa.com so I don’t have to battle through the sales.
Nike geometric-print sports leggings, from £25, alexandalexa.com
These Rodin lipsticks have a gorgeously soft texture. A punch of colour on the lips means you don’t need to worry about any other make-up – a lazy girl’s guide to glam.

INSTAGRAM OF THE WEEK
The Lake District has been special to me since my first summer there 30 years ago. Nothing quite like it. I could walk for hours and hours in my own thoughts… A truly beautiful spot and a great way to re-focus before getting back to work and back to school this September. Can’t wait to get stuck into new projects feeling rested, inspired and ready for action after some creative visualisation in the hills.
Note to Self Must buy some nice stationery and thank the lovely friends I stayed with over the summer. Studio Sarah does some super-chic cards that would be perfect; visit studiosarah.co.uk.
