Holly and Dermot, Kimberley Walsh’s wardrobe and my cute dog Harry

The past week has largely involved rummaging through celebrity wardrobes, discussing dapper menswear with Dermot O’Leary, launching This Morning’s new Fashion Game Show, oh and spending some quality time with my pooch Harry.

Following London Collections: Men when the eyes of the world were focused on British menswear, I joined Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary (who was filling for Phillip) in the This Morning studio for a menswear masterclass. Dapper Derm, as you’ll all know, loves a bit of tailoring and is actually an ambassador for the British Fashion Council so he was in his element and we had a great laugh showcasing some of the best men’s fashion on the high street.

Viewers of the show, will know that each week for my Star Wardrobes series, I visit a different celebrity to find out about their style, fashion influences and some of the iconic outfits that have defined their career. This week I got to go into the rather fabulous closet of Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh. Kimberly is such a sweet lady and her wardrobe is out of this world! As a treat to herself, Kimberly just had a custom-built wardrobe installed so we got the world exclusive on it… I’m pretty sure even Carrie Bradshaw would be envious. Kimberly’s display of gorgeous shoes had us all drooling. It was all in the name of charity, of course, so I didn’t leave empty handed. Kimberly donated a lovely dress for the online auction for This Morning viewers to bid on – all in aid of Text Santa.

I also had a good old rummage through the wardrobe of jungle Jane, model and star of I’m A Celebrity… Amy Willerton. Amy very kindly donated a one of a kind Topshop Unique dress. It’s a stunner! And the good news is that the auction is  still open, so there’s still time to get your bid in here.

It’s been a super busy fortnight and this week I also launched This Morning’s brand spanking new style challenge called Price Tag. In a nutshell it’s a fashion game designed for those with a passion for fashion where callers simply need to work out whether an outfit is more or less expensive than the previous look. Not as easy as it sounds. Our first ever player walked away with nearly £550… not bad for a few minutes chat of a Tuesday morning!

Other than that, I’ve been hitting the gym in earnest after far too much carrot cake and ice cream. And I’ve been spending lots of time with my gorgeous little  Harry – he’s a teacup Yorkie and the apple of my eye!

Rylan, Charlotte Crosby, David Gandy and Laura Whitmore…

Welcome to my Hello! blog.

Well despite a very wet and dreary start, the first working week of 2014 has been an incredible mix of events for me including hosting a global first with Topman and  Google, the launch of my new celebrity fashion series on This Morning and taking in the very best in menswear at London Collections: Men (LC:M).
Interview David Gandy at the Topman Google Hangout
Kicking off the week, I was chuffed to have been approached by Topman to be an Ambassador and in a global exclusive to host the first ever shoppable Google+ hangout. I’ve been a longtime fan of the brand so naturally I felt very privileged to have been asked and very excited to get cracking. Topman had partnered with Google+ during LC:M to showcase the Topman Design AW14 collection so myself and MTV’s Becca Dudley co-hosted the 75 minute live broadcast where we interview the FROW including Nick Grimshaw, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32 and David Gandy, as well as going behind the scenes of the fashion show (one of their best to date by far). It was the brilliant way to start the New Year, let me tell ya!

Some of other show highlights for me where Hackett, YMC, Katie Eary, Ada + Nik and Oliver Spencer where there was a little pre-show drama. Just as we had all taken our seats, there was a loud banging noise, followed by a scream and then a scramble as everyone ran from their seats. Turns out a pipe had burst, soaking everyone close to it. Luckily, it was nothing too serious and after 20 minutes we could return to our seats and the show began. My LC:M experience was made extra special as I got to meet one of my icons, the incredibly talented Tom Ford at his London HQ where he personally presented the new menswear collection in an old school salon style presentation. The clothes are to die-for and Tom is even more charming in the flesh!Of course once the shows finished, the parties began. I was on my best behaviour but managed to squeeze in the YMC x Men’s Health bash at Liberty and the Ben Sherman get-together at the very swanky new Editions hotel. Wrapping up the best LC:M to date, was a dinner hosted by GQ and Anya Hindmarch in the world-renowned Michelin star Hakkasan. Needless to say the food was delicious and the craic was mighty. I had great chats with actress Vicky McClure, Dermot O’Leary and actor Luke Evans. Safe to say, it was the perfect end to a fabulous week!

In between dashing to shows, my mornings were busy having lots of fun on This Morning. On Tuesday’s show I hosted ‘Rate of Slate’ with a style panel made up of the always fashionable Rylan Clark, Geordie Shore’s favourite Charlotte Crosby and style editor of Now magazine Alison Tay. Rihanna, Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue’s sartorial choices were all up for discussion. It was a hoot! You can watch it back here if you missed it.

Wednesday’s This Morning saw the first in my brand new fashion series ‘Star Wardrobes’. Each week, I visit a different celebrity to find out about their style, fashion influences, treasured items, and perhaps some of the iconic outfits that have defined their career. This week I visited the gorgeous (and fellow Hello! blogger) Laura Whitmore. Laura’s a friend of mine so we had such a laugh and it was a great way to start the series – it didn’t feel like work at all. I didn’t leave empty handed and got Laura to give me one item of clothing to be placed in an online auction for This Morning viewers to bid on – all in aid of Text Santa. Laura donated a stunning lace dress that she wore to the ITV Summer Party 2013. You can see, and bid, here.
