We started this week with some really exciting news; J and I have been nominated for Best Performance at the National Reality TV Awards 2017! To say I was shocked when I found out would be an understatement. I am so humbled and blown away to have been nominated! When I asked how we came to be nominated, I was even more surprised to find out that 4.6million people had voted to put forward each of the nominees, across all of the different categories! I just felt like thanking everyone that voted for us to be nominated in the first instance, as it really means a lot to both of us and me in particular.
J and I absolutely loved being a part of Dance, Dance, Dance and even though the show was really intense and took over our lives for 4 months, we LOVED every single minute and we are so glad we took part. It truly was an amazing experience and one I will treasure forever. I enjoyed dancing with my husband so much, and Ace still asks to watch Mummy and Daddy dance on TV.
Since the nomination this week, I have been looking back at the videos and we really did look like we were having the time of our lives. I would very much appreciate it if you were all able to vote for us to win! Please see the link to vote and a huge thanks to you all in advance for voting.
We’ve been trying to keep Ace as occupied as possible throughout the summer holiday. It’s been tough to say the least as both J & I have been working and it’s only the 1st week of August! Nevertheless, I made sure I blocked out a date in the diary for us all to go and watch Paw Patrol Live at Wembley Arena. Ace was super excited – of course – and couldn’t take his eyes off the stage. He even got to meet some of his favourite characters!
Ace has literally been THE BIGGEST fan of Paw Patrol. So much so, he requested (yes, at almost 2 years old) a Paw Patrol themed party last year, with boned sandwiches & fruit, a Paw Patrol cake and a themed bouncy castle – the works!! I’ve got my work cut out for his birthday this year!
I still can’t get my head around the fact that he’s going to be turning three so soon!
On Tuesday night, we had tickets to go to the IAAF Athletics World Championships, held at the London Stadium in Stratford, to watch Usain Bolt run his LAST individual race! I was absolutely buzzing to watch him run. I am a massive fan of the athletics and I always watch it on TV. Arriving at the stadium takes your breath away. The atmosphere was insane and everyone was so excited to watch Bolt run. We made sure Ace had a nap in the car, as it was going to be a late night for him. We had brilliant seats, and half way through the evening, the CEO of the event asked us if we wanted to go down to the front to watch the 100m final! Without hesitation, we were up, out of our seats and following her down the stairs.
Sitting in the dugout waiting for the race to start, Ace kept holding his finger on his lips to ssssshhhhh everyone before the start of the race; adrenaline was pumping. The whole audience booed when Gatlin won and Bolt came third but once everyone had gotten over the shock of him not winning, the whole stadium was chanting his name as he was did one of his last laps of honour.
What an incredible moment with my family, watching the legend that is Usain Bolt, run for the last time.
Just before we left we got to catch up with Christian Malcolm, someone who I have watched run for years!! He’s now helping coach the younger athletes and passing on all his knowledge. What a lovely guy he was!
What a BRILLIANT week!! I hope you all have a good week!
Lots of Love,
