My Album Release and Top Festive Tips!!

My album is out!!! My debut album ‘Rise’ was released on Friday. It’s available online, Asda and Morrisons and of course iTunes!! I’ve been absolutely blown away by the response.

Thank you all so much!!! Your support really does mean the world to me! Thrilled you guys are loving it!!

My next live gig is on my home turf at The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays, Dec 3rd. I’m thrilled to reveal that my Corrie lot are coming!!! Nothing like the cast of the world’s biggest soap sat in front of you to settle your nerves eh?! Ha ha. My Corrie family are being so supportive – thank you my ‘Weatherfield Massive’! I wonder if we can get Dan Brocklebank up for a #Beva duet?! Hmmmm…

This week I attended the ‘Mancunian Way’ charity ball. It’s a wonderful charity! Please take a moment to read about the work they do here:

Also this week, I sang LIVE on the Gaby Roslin show!! It was pretty nerve wracking but I loved it!!! You can listen to my single ‘Close To You’ here:

Christmas is coming and this mother goose REFUSES to get fat!! Or stressed!!! Here’s some of my top tips in the run up to Christmas to avoid getting over-stressed and overweight!!

Merry Stress-Less!!
Get Ahead!

Start shopping now!!! Don’t leave it till the last minute. I do most of my Christmas shopping online. But I also buy gifts throughout the year and store it in my ‘Christmas Cupboard’… yes I am that organized!! If I see something I know a friend or family member will love – I buy it, mainly due to the fact that Christmas shopping is rather stressful! I’d rather not be stood in queues of people … I’d rather be at home with a mince pie, feeling smug that I started my shopping in June!!
So many people get themselves into debt at Christmas. Again, starting shopping early really helps. The January sales are a great time to start! Then you’re all set for next Christmas and its cost you half the dollar you’d normally spend!! We also make a lot of our own food- i.e. Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, mince pies. This is often cheaper AND you get to monitor the quality of produce! For us it works a treat as we can make gluten and dairy free alternatives if we like. Plus kids LOVE baking so it’s something fun you can do as a family.

Food Savvy

If you can’t get into that gorgeous dress on NYE, you’ll be pretty depressed right?! So be food savvy!! YES enjoy yourself! That’s what Christmas is about. But is there any need to eat an entire pack on Mince pies?! Half a tub of chocolates? Two helpings of Christmas pudding?? Thought not! Feeling good in your own skin – now there’s something that’s definitely WORTH it!! Enjoy great food – just keep a balance and keep active!

If like me your social calendar starts to ramp up this time of year you may need a little help nursing those Christmas hangovers!! It’s not often I’m hungover, however if I am – this bad boy saves my bacon EVERYTIME. It’s quick, it’s easy and it’ll sort that fluffy head out!

Hangover Smoothie:
Handful of blueberries
5 strawberries
Handful of raspberries
Table spoon of natural yogurt
1 banana
A glass of coconut water

Berries are packed with antioxidants for your deprecated little hung-over self! Coconut water is full of electrolytes- hydrating you much faster than water- it will ‘Replenish’ your system. Natural yogurt helps feed the good bacteria in your gut, and seeing as too much booze lowers your immunity – you be needing those ‘Good Gut Soldiers’ fighting your corner. Chuck a banana in for an added energy boost and Et Voila! What hangover?!

Have a fabulous week Darlings!!
