Corrie drama, friends sleeping rough and duetting with the talented Shayne Ward
Well! Things are getting slightly awkward in Corrie with regards to the Maria v’s Eva V’s Aiden Gate!! I feel really sorry for Eva. She feels she’s finally found her Prince Charming … And is completely clueless to the fact he’s slept with Maria, who ironically Eva is trying to be best friends with! On a positive I’m having so much fun working with Shayne and Samia. We’re loving this storyline and we get SO excited each time we review a new batch of scripts!
In other Corrie news this week – we morn the loss of the great Jean Alexander- who of course played the infamous Hilda Ogden. Jean played Hilda from 1964-1987. I’ve googled many of her episodes – for inspiration and guidance- a true Corrie icon. Everything a Weatherfield woman should be and much more. You will go down in history Jean and never be forgotten. I’m truly honoured to be walking the street all these years after you. Rest in peace.
I’ve got to say a big round of applause will be due to my pals from #TeamVital ( including Katie Mcglynn and Jamie Moore) who are sleeping rough in front of Manchester Cathedral for a charity called The Booth Centre on November 4th.
It’s SO COLD at the moment! You guys need to be prepared!
The Booth Centre is a charity run day centre for the homeless people in Manchester (of which there is a ever growing problem) and they provide practical support . Here’s the info about the sleepout – there’s still time to sign up!
Tom and I had a date night this week… with Alfie! We couldn’t find a baby sitter so we had a family date night at a fab new restaurant in town. We decided to order the giant meat platter… Foolishly thinking we could rise to the challenge and clear our plates… Nope – we left with a huge doggy bag!
Comfortable in My Own Skin
They say as we get older we become more comfortable with ourselves? I’d go with that. If I could travel back in time and have a word with my younger self… There would be a list of things I would say to my younger self. A million inspirational quotes. Body confidence and self assurance don’t come easy do they? I’ve been trying to be mindful of putting myself down in recent years. I believe thoughts become things- the law of attraction if you will. A dear friend of mine once told me ‘if you believe it, you can achieve it’ I believe this to be true. If you have a ‘body goal’ or a ‘dream weight’ – you CAN achieve it.
IF you truly want this bad enough and believe in yourself. Even when you’re struggling and there is doubt in your mind- lie to yourself until you DO believe it. Self conviction works wonders. If a negative thought arises in your head – dispel it with something else straight away. I apply this to all areas of my life but find it particularly useful in terms of my health and fitness goals.
Goals in all aspects of life are so important. Self belief is just as important as your nutrition and exercise routine.
In other exciting news!! I can reveal that the uber talented Shayne Ward and I have a duet on my forthcoming album!!
Due out Nov 11th. I’ve always been a fan of Shaynes and as you guys know- we love singing together. We worked really hard on the track and I hope you guys love it as much as we do!!! Eeeeek!
Well done to UP Fitness who are helping to support Breast Cancer Care. Of which I am a huge supporter.
