Imagine Spa Launch Party. Celebs Ahoy!

Last Friday I had a fab overnight stay at Heathrow Terminal 5′s brand new Hilton Hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the Imagine Spa they have there is even better. I spent Saturday having an amazing massage and basically relaxing in the beautiful spa area that has everything and more in terms of pampering and luxury. Salt grotto, aroma steam room, sauna, feature showers and ice fountain all situated around the centre piece hydrotherapy pool – absolutely gorgeous.

This is me relaxing in the room before the party…

Here are some pics from the launch party…

Infrared Domes. Burn 600 Calories Without Moving!!

Last week I was invited to try out an exciting new way to detox and break down fat – the infrared domes.

Photobucket

I was promised that I would sweat out toxins, break down fat, and burn up to 600 calories in a half hour session. BRING. IT. ON.

So I travelled into central London as excited as a kid on the way to Disney because there is nothing that appeals to me more than burning calories without moving a muscle!

You basically strip off, lie in the infrared dome, first for 15 minutes on your front, then you get flipped over and do the last fifteen minutes on your back.

You retain your dignity at all times as you’re inside the dome and under a towel. It becomes less ladylike when you start sweating like you have never sweat before. It’s really quite amazing. Apparently you sweat as much as if you had run 22 km. Except you are just laying there!!

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s no walk in the park either. It’s very very hot and towards the end of the session you start to think that perhaps you can’t take much more but then it’s over and you get to lay there and ccol down slowly.

What’s special about it, is that it’s not just a case of getting hot and sweaty, it’s how you get hot and sweaty.

Photobucket

The technology of the black carbon dome gradually heats up the body by emitting vibrations of far-infrared rays that are in line with the infrared naturally produced within the body. The heat penetrates up till 40 mm under the skin, which is purifying, in depth cleansing and cellulite fighting.

I really did feel like I had shrunk when I got out. It took quite a long time to cool down but there is no rush to leave place and you can get ready slowly. As I walked back to the station I suddenly felt an amazing sense of exhilaration and rush of adrenalin. And that’s when I decided that I wanted to do it again!!

And I lost 2 lbs last week too!

Botox Effect Foundation?!

I have been having a play with a new foundation recently that promises to deliver botox like results. What do you think?

Before…

Photobucket

After…

Photobucket

Now I definitely think that my skin looks more lifted and defined in the second picture where I am wearing the RVB Colour Therapy Lifting Foundation. To me it looks quite plumped and firm and definitely more radiant.

This is a picture that was sent to me by RVB with half of the face made up with products from the range. The anti-ageing effect is really quite apparent.

Photobucket

It seems that the lifting actives of the foundation hold up the skin fibres and define the contours. It contains innovative botox-like active ingredients of vegetal origin which work to reduce the wrinkles depth and promotes a more youthful appearance.

Whilst I can’t really comment on the benefits of long term use of this foundation, I have to say that I really do like it and it leaves my skin feeling and looking super fresh. When I’ve worn it I have definitely had compliments on how good my skin is looking.

It comes in five shades and costs £43. Call 01767 682288 for stockists.

So what do you think? Does it make a difference?

A Brand New Start for Pantene

Photobucket

This is really good news for all you girlies that still feel you haven’t found the perfect haircare.

Pantene have been working very very hard carrying out 7 years of in-depth scientific  research and have completely relaunched their entire range. It is pretty amazing!

At the launch event Pantene Principal Scientist, Dr Frauke Neuser talked us through all the developments they have made in hair knowledge  using NASA (!!!) inspired technology. Hair was actually studied with an atomic force microscope  (used to study the surface of Mars)  to analyse how different hair fibres react with different ingredients.

Photobucket

Pantene have come up with brand new ingredients, mixed in brand new ways, with brand new delivery systems. Everything about it takes haircare to a brand new level. And now I shall promise not to mention ‘brand new’ again!

They have created a very simplistic approach to finding the right products for you. It is split into three cartegories – products for coloured hair, normal to thick hair and fine hair. You just have to decide who you are. Within the categories you can find products that will deliver exactly what you need.

Photobucket

I learnt that it’s very important to use products designed for coloured hair, not just to prevent fade but because coloured hair structure is quite distinct from the other two categories and cannot receive product in the same way. There was me thinking I was sacrificing the intensity of my colour so that I could fast track it to serious haircare benefits offered for the treatment of dry hair – but this won’t have worked because the delivery system would not have been suitable for my hair structure.

Look I am going to stop there because it’s getting a bit sciency and move swiftly on to the ad campaign. It’s totally gorgeous because Pantene’s new ambassador is the beautiful and amazing Liv Tyler. We had a little sneak preview of the advertisements (which air on 4th November) and they look amazing!

I am really excited about this relaunch and the amazing celeb hairstylist Lara Zee (who I now adore) checked out my hair and gave me some products she thinks I’ll love. I shall be reviewing those here and on my blog really soon!

Look I matched some of the products!!
