How is your week going?

Before jetting off to Cannes I attended my friend John Martínez-Vidal’s photograph exhibition. I know I’ve said it before but I just love art – whether painting, architecture, sculpture, photography or fashion, I love it all! So I try not to miss any collection or exhibition, and of course if it’s a friend of mine who is putting on the exhibition then there is no way I’m going to miss it. This time John really nailed it, I wanted to take all the pictures home with me!

The exhibition is in the space owned by Luis Galliussi in Madrid, next to the beautiful Royal Palace. The collaboration was fantastic, two great artists producing a wonderful exhibition!

I’m wearing jeans from Genetic Denim, suede boots from Aldo, black tank top from Zara, cotton jersey by Swildens, bag from Derek Lam and sunglasses from Mr. Boho. Mr Boho is a new brand from a friend of mine and so far it’s doing really well and for each pair of glasses they sell they donate one euro to Save the Children. Entrepreneurs and supporting a great cause at the same time, I think it’s so great to see.

For my makeup I’m only wearing lispstick and I’ve chosen Volupte Sheer Candy by Yves Saint Laurent, number thirteen.

This week I am between Madrid and Cannes. In Madrid I took the opportunity to rendevouz and sort out business, so I’ve had a lot of meetings. One was at a restaurant called Ten con Ten , which is absolutely amazing!

For my casual meeting I’m wearing flared jeans from Paige and new season wedge sandals from Oysho, which are really comfortable. My handbag is  from Celine, my shirt is  from Goa — I bought at the Leonce shop when I last visited Oviedo. The bracelet and the earrings are from Maramz and the ring is from Jennifer Fisher — it was a gift from my friend Marim Kim. The jacket is from Mango‘s new season collection.

I got a manicure that day and I’m wearing a colour from Essie, but I can’t remember the specific number…

How is your week treating you? When I went on my last trip to Formentera, I took a stop in Ibiza. Luis, as expected and knowing him like I do, invited me to his house, Can Kaki, which is is also the name of his dog. The house is spectacular. I will fail to do it justice if I describe it, but it is a true reflection of Luis’ personality, an as enigmatic as the man himself.

Since I don’t spend a lot of time in Ibiza, I don’t know about all of the best places to go, so Luis became my unofficial tour guide. There were so many wonderful places to go!

One of the places that I liked most was the Bar Sa Calma, which had awesome views of the sea and Ibiza old town. To have lunch the best place is the restaurant La Brasa and for a drink and a snack  El Amante Beach and Pereyra are great, and they’re located at the Ibiza theater. The best place to sleep is the Hostal Montesol, the hotel has always been on the island. By the way I found Calzados Ferrer, they have really nice sandals!

I’m wearing jeans from Genetic Denim, a jean shirt from Club Mónaco, a t-shirt from The Hip Tee, pendants from Nuna Bascón, flat shoes in copper from Chloé, folding sunglasses from Sunpocket, a bag from Antik Batik that I’ve bought at Ibiza, and cardigan that belongs to Luis that he kindly lent me because was cold and I didn’t brought anything warm. The jacket is from Zara – I love it so much that I have it in two colours!

Schedules and holidays don’t exist in this work — you need to be available whether it’s Wednesday or Sunday, but I cannot complain! The truth is I’ve done this work for a long time, and I’ve never enjoyed it more than now. Although I have a slower pace of work now, when I was younger I wasn’t even aware of what I was doing, and the whole experience was a surreal wonderland. Now I am a lot more experience, I can now see things in a more relaxed light. What I like most – and why I’m still in the world of fashion – is because my house in Toledo can be guest to people I would have never dreamed of meeting. I don’t just meet actors or designers, but I get an opportunity to meet writers and architects, and I love architecture! All of these people have taught me a lot, and it’s a privilege I really appreciate.

For today’s post, I asked Tim Bell if he could take me the photos at the set. I’m wearing Zara jacket from this season, a shirt by Lío de Faldas, a loose-knit jersey by MANGO, boots from Bylarin, a bag from Syra Ryf  and a ring from Maramz.

As I said before, this week I had to return to New York to work, despite an incredible hangover from Gonzalo’s wedding festivities…

This time I went to a photo shoot at the Hudson studios, in the Chelsea District. They have incredible views of Manhattan and the river that I never tire of looking at. We spent all day at the photo shoot, but when you have a team like the one I had this week, the time flies.

The photos were taken at the studio, with the makeup and hairstyle that they did to me for the session. By the way, some girls asked me about my hair color– I went to see Jo Hansford in London last time I was there. The salon specialises in hair colour, and is pretty good for anything else you want doing to your hair.

It’s been a long day at work, so I wore some oversized jeans from Swildens for NAC, which I bought in Madrid. My super-comfy shoes are made out of raffia for an ultra-soft feel– they’re from Robert Clegerie which is also for NAC. My stripy nautical t-shirt is one of my favourites from Zara– it’s been around for several seasons and it never goes out of style. My scarf to protect my wrist is from Nice Things and my denim shirt is from Mango.

I’m wearing an amulet necklace from Spanish and Sisters, and a two-finger ring from Torques Complementos. The shawl in my bag is from NAC as well. My bag is from the online Prada shop.

Pedraza is a lovely village– if you haven’t been already, you should definitely spend a weekend there. The entire village is like something out of a Hans Christian Andersen tale– it’s an idyll suspended in time. All of the dwelling’s period features have been kept in tact thanks to the locals treating Pedraza with a great deal of love and care.

For the walk– which includes many a cobbled street– I put my sensible Esparto long-life sandals on and comfortable clothing. I wore a dress from Mango from the new season, my bag from Spanish and Sisters, which is fair-trade and made in Thailand. Whenever a brand or company promotes or sells products that have a strong fair trade policy, I like to show you that despite the current economic situation, there are entrepreneurs who are looking out for the interests of those most in need. My necklace is from Rocío Porres.

This weekend my dear friend Gonzalo Machado got married in a luxurious ceremony in Pedraza. The day was jam-packed with activities for all of the guests to enjoy.

The first day of the ceremony was on Friday afternoon, which was the religious ceremony. It was celebrated at the Church of San Juan Bautista de Pastrana, which is a lovely place. Gonzalo looked gorgeous in a sophisticated grey jacket. Meanwhile, his wife Mafalda looked absolutely radiant with an original dress by Lorenzo Caprile. I wore a floral dress from The 2nd Skin and Co., which is from the next autumn-winter collection.

Everything was spectacular.  The couple planned everything to to T– the pages wore traditional costumes of Segovia, and danced regional dances outside the Church, the decor, the food… everything!

I will show you all the things that were organised by the couple over the three day ceremony soon– there’s so much to tell …

I wore the matching belt and green shoes to my dress from The 2nd Skin and Co for the next autumn-winter season. The earrings were a gift from some really special people at Buccellati. My purse is from Giorgio Armani.
For the occasion Eva Villar did my make-up. She is a friend of mine whom I absolutely adore, and she does a really good job. She used the lip colour ’tissue pink’ from And Other Stories.

I have finally returned to Madrid!

Thanks to the city’s unpredictable weather at the moment, I keep on walking out of the house with no idea what to wear. I have to pack my bag with sandals, an umbrella, a jumper and a fan because I just don’t know whether it’s going to be sunshine or showers. Today I wore lots of layers to make my life that little bit easier.

In the morning I carried out some errands with my my mother, and in the afternoon we took a walk around the Parque del Oeste. Treating ourselves, we decided to go and see Anna Karenina, starring Jude Law and Keira Knightley. The costumes are spectacular.

I always watch films in the language they were made in. A lot of English films are shown in Spain and are normally translated really well, but I cannot process English characters being dubbed over in a Spanish voice. When I see a foreign film, I see it as a great opportunity to practise my English, French and German.

I love films.  One of the reasons why I teamed up with Frida Torresblanco, producer of Pan’s Labyrinth, to start film production company Braven Films was to see more fantastic movies being made. The production company’s latest flick, Magic Magic premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. I met with Robert Redford at the premiere. I declared myself one of his biggest fans. The Sting is one of my favourite films. Every single time I watch it I love it more and more.

I’m wearing two stars and heart necklaces from Emebe Designs, a turquoise cross pendant from Belao, a grey t-shirt from Zara (from the store’s spring collection) a wrist handkerchief from my friend Rodrigo, a gold ring from Carrera y Carrera, and a shirt from Maison Scotch for Cool The Sack. My light grey jeans are from J.Brand and I also bought them from Cool The Sack. My bag is from Leonce– a shop in Oviedo that I love– my sunglasses are from Persol and my shoes are from The Flaneuse. I always carry perfume in my bag, and today I’m carrying Coco Noir from Chanel. My lipstick is from Yves Saint Laurent, although the shade is no longer available.

What kind of movies do you like? What is your favorite movie? I particularly love Life Is Beautiful. It’s really striking how such a beautiful love story can come out of the worst situation imaginable.

The rest of the cushions are from Zara home. The bedspread is from Rosa Costa, which Sandra bought in Lencería Casar in La Coruna, too.

I spent the entire afternoon winding down and having a bit of “me” time. I took the time to read, have a bath… it was wonderful!

I wore my cute and comfy clothes from Momoni, and a thick cotton jersey from Belair which I bought in AB Oviedo. My lingerie is from Mimoki.

To repair the scar on my wrist after my surgery I have been applying Rosa Mosqueta oil from Natura Bisse. I am wearing pink Hydra Chrono lip balm from Lierac, which is designed to intensely moisturise your lips overnight.

I love peaceful evenings like this. We all need to wind down from time to time, don’t we? You should take at least five minutes out of every single day to treat yourself.
