Hi everyone, how are you all today?
As you well know, this year we celebrate de IV Centenary of the famous painter El Greco and to commemorate this event a fashion magazine asked me to work with them on a photo shoot in Toledo which is where I grew up.
When we first arrived we went straight to the Santo Tomé workshop, a bakery famed for its marzipan treats. The staff were so kind and showed us how they bake their cakes, which later we were lucky enough to try (some of us even took home a few boxes of goodies!) Following the bakery we went to the Real Fundación del Toledo at the Victorio Maco Museum, which has incredible views of the Cigarrales (country houses on the bank of the river Tajo)
The Real Fundación of Toledo is an organization in charge of protecting the historical city area and restoring the emblematic buildings of the Toledo as well as supporting cultural events that take place in the city. I’ve been Vicepresident of the Real Fundación board for over 5 years now and this is why I specifically wanted the picture for the magazine to be taken there, as this place means a lot to me. Whilst growing up I lived just a stone’s throw away and often went there for walks.
I’ve written before about Toledo but I insist that this place has something special: it’s narrow streets, the river, the Alcazar, the Cathedral, the churches, etc.
If you come to Spain, Toledo is a place you have to visit!
