hello

London Town: Chalcot Square

Hello!

Those of you who follow me on twitter (@eusilva) or instagram (@itseusilva) will know that after a great weekend in Venice, I took a direct flight to London.

At the beginning of my career as a model, I spent long periods of time in London, before moving to NY and from that time I have incredible memories.

Part of my life still resides in London. My brother lives there with his wife, as I told you in another post, where I showed you his bedroom, my brother is an architect and as many Spanish people, when things started to go badly in Spain, he had to move abroad and he has always wanted to go to London. As I have told you on several occasions, I had always wanted to become an architect, but fashion appeared in my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything; but I am still very interested in architecture and I can spend hours listening to him. He was the one in charge of the refurbishment of my house in the countryside- who best to know what I wanted and do it with love and attention.

Some of my best friends live in London too. Patricia, Pat’s jewelery designer, the one who let me borrow her kaftan for the wedding in Ibiza, lives there with her family and her daughter, who is my god daughter. Barbara, who I spent some of my best times with in NY, also lives in London. Every time I’m in London I try to see them and organise a girls dinner; I love them to pieces!

In order to try to spend some time with them, my agency in London is Models 1, here you can see my book. They do a great job and always look for jobs for me in London.

As you may have seen in my other trips to London, I use to stay in one of my preferred areas in London, Primrose Hill. It is very close to the centre but at the same time is a peaceful oasis, with incredible views from the hill, lovely shops and cafes… I recommend you visit it on your next visit to London. My brother lives there, in a small 1 bedroom flat and I love staying on the couch! There isn’t a better place than staying there.

After work and experiencing some of the lovely weather London is having at the moment, I went out for a walk around Primrose Hill, through the small streets, admiring the Victorian houses and having a wander in all the small shops. I remembered to buy a card for my friend Giorgio Armani, it was his birthday last week. I spent hours in a small shop “Gallery 196” (196 Regents Park Road) where they sell incredible kaftans and things brought by the owner Sue from her trips to Morocco, India… I bought a tiny kaftan for my niece MiniEu that I will show you in another post.

The pictures were taken at Chalcot Square, with its coloured houses, by my beloved sister-in-law Tere, she is always the one that helps me discover new shops and restaurants in London.
