My London Fashion Week

aj1

There’s a number of reasons not to like London Fashion like err, being papped because you’re sat behind a celebrity; heavy goody bags filled with more coconut water than you can physically drink (#firstworldproblems!) and the overwhelming urge to wear a mini skirt in February not to mention the fact that no one has a clue what the gold star means on their ticket (sometimes it means you bypass the queue, sometimes you have to wait in line and get a slapped wrist for even asking). Really?! Yes.

This was my 3rd year visiting LFW and this year I’ve wised up. Big time. I leave the goody bags alone, there’s a flat pair of shoes in my handbag, I’m sporting a jumpsuit and I know exactly what’s going on with the guest list. BOOM! Needless to say I had a lot of fun at LFW 2015. Here’s my lowdown from the week:

I got ready in style

Brand new luxury beauty app, PRIV kindly provided me with professional hair and makeup artists to spruce me up in the comfort of my own home. Amazing. Then I started my day with a positive TV meeting over a breakfast of poached eggs on toast. Yum. Then, it was show time. FROWing at the Gyunel show (where British pop princess Ella Eyre did a pre-show music performance which was sensational), at the PPQ show (where my friend Ashley James was strutting her stuff down the catwalk) and then my personal favourite, Jean-Pierre Braganza show at Somerset House (where a strange man catwalk-bombed to take a cheeky selfie with the models).

Gwen Stefani’s sloppy seconds

Jean-Pierre Braganza kindly dressed me for his show in a jumpsuit that (for now at least) is the only one in the world. Lucky me. I’m so glad that onsies are fashionable, even if it does force you to strip every time you nip to the loo. Apparently, the jumpsuit I wore was made with Gwen Stefani in mind and I’ll take her hand-me-downs any day of the week. As you can see I teamed it with a fresh pair of studded heels from Schuh, a Marni jacket and a Prada handbag (containing the flat pair of shoes I never actually wore).

Daisy Lowe, Erin O’Connor, Nicholas Hoult were all Hungry!

After a quick outfit change it was time to head to the W Hotel for the Hunger magazine party. Erin O’Connor, Daisy Lowe and Nicholas Hoult were among a few of the hot attendees there to celebrate Hunger‘s ‘We’ve Got Issues’ launch not to mention my squad of beauties pictured above. After dancing to MNEK’s DJ set and sipping on cocktails I was left feeling a little delicate but it was soon time to do it all over again the very next day and then… Sunday. I’m shattered.

The first rule of Fight Club is… wear orange!

Dressed in orange, I headed to the ME Hotel to watch the fashion show of sports luxe brand Charli Cohen. This show was simply great. A Fight Club-themed collection showcasing racer back crop tops, panelled tees, leggings and the best silver coat I’ve ever seen! Plus there was healthy pre-show snacks and drinks. Very fitting for what was a very energetic show fusing fashion and fitness together perfectly. Head over to my website ajodudu.com for more about my LFW shenanigans and outfit details.

My Birthday Bash with John Frieda

aj1

I’ve been enjoying the dizzying heights of London this week as I headed up not one but two towers. John Frieda had a party to mark the launch of their new hair products at the OXO Tower rooftop which boast stunning views across the River Thames and the City of London and the scenery was great inside too. Former MIC star Millie Mackintosh looked beautiful in white, Pixie Geldof was playing music and the champagne and canapés were a visual and tasty delight. I wore a polka dot jumpsuit which sent other party goers potty for dotty.
aj2
This weekend I celebrated my birthday. For me birthdays are a time to crack open the champagne and spend some quality time with my bezzies. This year, I kicked off the celebrations at The Clock Tower in Kings Cross St Pancras. I stayed for the night in this privately owned residential property. As it’s name discreetly gives away, it’s a blooming clock tower! So had wondrous view of north london. I got a bit over-excited at the sight of this bath that overlooked the floor to ceiling bookcases. I had a fairy tale night!
aj3
Following my chilled out night, I ramped things up a notch by celebrating like a 16 year old on her way to a prom. I hired a stretch Jeep limousine, filled with balloons, bubbles and a music playlist that would give any high school disco a run for it’s money. My best buddies and I spent the evening criss-crossing London, pretending we were VIPs but actually acting like teenagers. If anyone in London happened to see me belting the Backstreet Boys and Missy Elliot out of the sunroof on Saturday night, I can only apologise!

To round off my week and kick start the next I collaborated with YouTube fitness expert Scola Dondo on a dance workout. Check out my YouTube channel for my (hliarious) attempt at an afrobeats workout and a few healthy breakfast ideas too.

Catch you next week!

Photo booth fun with Lilah Parsons and Charlotte De Carle

aj2
Jamie Winston, Mille Mackintosh and Zoe Hardman were just a few of the super hot girls sipping on Cointreau cocktails and causing trouble at the Spring/Summer Yumi collection launch party at the Ice Tank, London. I love nights like these, plenty of great company, delicious nibbles and drinks and you often get chatting to someone completely unexpected. One particular fella I wasn’t expecting to see there was the bloomin’ world famous, contemporary artist Damien Hirst! We got chatting over nibbles (as you do at these soirées) and found common ground immediately being fellow Northerners, he mentioned that he liked my dulcet tones and stripey trousers. Cheers mate!
I then got chatting to uber cool chick, Billy JD Porter before her DJ set, I loved her RnB playlist and I had photo fun with models Charlotte De Carle and Lilah Parsons.
aj1
Now after all that partying, like me, if you’re after a quick fitness pick me up then why not try this high protein, skin improving, metabolism boosting Spirulina Smoothie. It’s high iron and super green colour is just the bright, burst of energy you need on a Monday to kick start your week in the best way and the recipe and demo is over on my YouTube channel now.

And I know it’s Monday, it’s February, it’s freezing cold but let’s have some fun on my Hoxton Radio today from 2-4pm. It’s going to be a feel good, poptastic extravaganza!
Until next week here though, tarrah for now.

Partying with Naomi Campbell

aj1
Last night I celebrated the 10th Anniversay of the EE Rising Star Award with InStyle magazine at the Ace Hotel in London. Naomi Campbell, Sheridan Smith, Jamie Winston, Ella Ere and Emily Ratajkowski were just a few of the seriously hot guests there to join in the party. We sipped on cocktails, nibbled on canapés and made fools out of ourselves in their photo-booths – just me? I wore a cocktail dress from SpottedOnCeleb which was a good job when hanging out with mega babes Lilah Parsons, Amber Le Bon and model Billy Huxley. Blimey what a crowd of lovelies!
aj2
Last night’s occasion was far more glamorous than my previous days spent in lycra as I took to the streets of London to conquer the cold in aid of Cancer Research. Yes, I, along with 15,000 others, took part in a 10K run that took us past some of London’s most iconic landmarks including the London Eye, The Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster. I knew I wanted to capture as much of the amazing atmosphere as possible, taking in all aspects of the winter themed routes with areas being dubbed as ‘snow zones’, ‘ice caves’ and even polar bear hugs at the finish line and so of course I took my selfie stick and filmed the whole thing on my GoPro. I looked like Inspector Gadget as I weaved in and out of people with my extended arm. Running with thousands of people all heading for the same destination, raising money for the same cause was exceptionally touching not to mention good fun. Plus, I got to cross the line with my selfie stick. Sadly, the race organisers don’t give medals to selfie sticks but if they did, it would have been GoPro gold.
aj3
I interviewed chart topping, Grammy Award nominated, All About That Bass singer, Meghan Trainor for ITV2 show The Hot Desk and it was televised over the weekend so if you missed it, fear not as you can watch it back right here: https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/the-hot-desk/series-7/episode-12-megan-trainor.
Also, check out my YouTube channel for all things fitness. This week, I’m showing pre and post workout healthy eats so come dine with me!
Until next week, cheerio!
