Fun fitness

When H&M invited me to do a dance class with them and SOS (Seen On Screen) I jumped at the chance. I’ve read all about SOS who create and teach dance routines inspired by the the biggest pop stars (some of which they have actually worked with) to help you get fit whilst having bags of fun. It was to celebrate the launch of H&M’s new fitness range which includes matching co-ords, funky sports bras and a range of trendy outdoor gear for hiking. The prices are pretty snazzy too.
With SOS you can learn how to dance like pop stars such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kylie, Britney Spears or in in my case, Bruno Mars, which is genius! I worked up a sweat by sticking out my bottom, flicking my hair in the wind machines, strutting and twerking for an hour straight. Not to mention all the smiling and laughing I did which, if you ask me, is a workout in itself. It was so much fun and I can still remember the dance routine…(well, at least half if it). After gyrating to Uptown Funk with a load of sassy ladies I stepped behind the wheels of steel for a quick spin myself. Britney medley anyone?!
Cold weather can discourage even the most motivated exercisers. All too often I have wanted to hide under my warm, cosy duvet and dodge the outdoors like the plague so how I was convinced to workout in -5C I’ll never know. Yes, you read correctly, I took to the Ice Bar London to exercise  in -5C first thing in the morning, so if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to exercise in a freezer, you’re about to find out.No prizes for guessing that it was pretty chilly to begin with but with Fitness First winter workout experts on hand throughout, I successfully avoided frost bite and hyperthermia. I didn’t however avoid fatigue as I star jumped, squatted and lunged my way to warmth within seconds. 40 minutes in extremely cold conditions made for a very challenging workout like no other but the theme of frosty fitness is certainly going to continue into next month as I take part in Cancer Research’s Winter Run. There’s going to be snow zones, ice caves and even Polar bear hugs at the finish line so if anyone in London wants to conquer the cold with me in aid of Cancer Research, get yourself signed up.
As always be sure to check out my YouTube channel for the latest in fitness fashion, short workouts and diet tips and and tune into London’s Hoxton Radio today, which you can listen to live online from 2-4pm. I’ll be playing my pop favorites and revealing who I’ve been stalking on Instagram. Naturally.Until next week, Tarah!AJ
