Getting nominated in the same category as Alesha Dixon and Natalie Gumede was an honour

Last night I attended the Screen Nation Film and Television Awards for the first time. It was lovely to be in a room with such great on-screen talent and it was even better presenting an award with Ashley Walters. I’ve watched his career blossom right from when I was a teenager singing to 21 Seconds by So Solid Crew so it was weird meeting him, especially as I used to have a crush on him (sshhh). Thankfully he was a nice chap.

I was nominated for two awards and it was a true honour to be considered in the same category as Alesha Dixon, Holby City’s Chizzy Akudolu, actress and Strictly Come Dancing star Natalie Gumede and Fresh Meat’s Zawe Ashton. Even though I wasn’t crowned victorious, I was really proud to be there.

I sat next to and chatted with Olympic medallist Christine Ohuruogu, joked around with EastEnders actor Khali Best and caught up with Shameless actress Karen Bryson. For a Sunday night, merriment ensued as though it was a Friday. Happy Days!

I also appeared on Matt Edmonson’s ITV 2 show Fake Reaction with Brian Bello, Ollie Locke, Joe Swash and comedian David Morgan. It was pre-recorded at the end of last year so it was great to relive all the funny moments on telly last week. If you missed it, thank goodness for ITV player eh?! You can catch up! I sported a lovely AQ/AQ dress with Schuh shoes (above).
