What a week! One minute I’m at The Isle of Wight festival dancing to Blur, moshing to The Prodigy, missing Fleetwood Mac and presenting for Malibu Rum, the next minute I’m DJing from the exclusive Hospital Club in London for LCM, playing table tennis with Greg Rusedski at the Aegon Championships, making smoothies with Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love and running with 10,000 women for the Nike race series. Now that I’ve had a moment to catch my breath, let’s have a chat!
First stop, the Isle of Wight Festival where I was filming a fun, festival guide for Malibu Rum. Bringing glamour to a soggy field is a big ask, but there was definitely an attempt on my part. Kimonos, playsuits, feather headbands, the lot! Check out my festival fashion guide on ajodudu.com.
I finished filming in time to enjoy The Black Keys, The Prodigy, Groove Armada, Pharrell Williams and Blur before having to miss Fleetwood Mac’s performance to be back in London for an exclusive DJ set.
Yep, I DJed to a room full of dapper men during LCM before broadcasting my Hoxton Radio chart show live from the Grooming Room. You can listen back to my non-stop hits and interview with award winning fashion writer Jai’me of BoyMeetsFashion.com on my website.
Now, never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine myself playing table tennis in front of a crowd at Queen’s Club in London, yet there I was, volleying with former world number 4 tennis star, Greg Rusedski. What a pleasant surprise!
The fact that I won our table tennis match was certainly a “pinch me” moment. I like to think it was pure talent and determination that crowned me victorious during the match but in fact, it was more likely to be the wonky sunglasses sat on top of my head that distracted poor Rusedski. That said, a win’s a win. Yippee!
Then I was on for another sporting victory, this time in a team of 10,000 strong women at Victoria Park, London where Nike hosted a run as part of their summer race series. At the finish line, we stopped to give one another celebratory hugs and were greeted by a glass of champagne, a Birch Box pamper kit and a medal in the form of an Alex Monroe necklace. Had I have known all of these treats were waiting for me at the finish line, I’d have certainly run faster.
See you next week!
