The Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, London

The Jumeirah Lowndes is a boutique hotel in the beautiful area of Belgravia, London. A five minute walk from Harrods and round the corner from the Christian Louboutin shop, the hotel is in one of the swankiest neighborhoods in London.

On arrival we were offered a refreshing glass of water with lime and lemon and some warm flannels to wash the London tube off our hands.

We stayed in a Junior Suite which had a living style room with a desk, sofa style seats and a large flat screen TV.

The adjoining room comprised a walk in closet and catering facilities and a very sweet welcome note. They’d catered to all types with a welcome tray containing fruit, rococo chocolates, a Nespresso coffee machine and bottled water.

Next to that room was the sleeping area with a large bed (big enough for 4 I reckon!) another flat screen TV and an en suite bathroom. Guests of the Lowndes get complimentary use of The Peak Spa at the sister Jumeirah Carlton Tower (a two minute walk away) which has a pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi (I used) and gym (I didn’t!).

The Jumeirah Lowndes has its own restaurant and bar serving different types of food (including afternoon tea) from 7 am until 11 pm and 24 hour room service. I noticed a few families with young children staying at the hotel and the staff were friendly and accommodating which is always a nice touch.

Dinner and breakfast the next morning were delicious, in fact I ate too much! It’s hard not to when it tastes this good.

The Jumeirah Lowndes offers a luxurious experience of London and although I’ve lived here all my life it was a pleasure to visit a part of the city normally reserved as a pass through when I have visitors from other countries.
