Whether your hair is relaxed or natural, blow drying at home can seem a little daunting. That needn’t be the case as there are tools available to make the whole experience that bit easier.
I recently tried out two new products: Ojon Super Sleek Blowout Perfector and Ojon Rare Blend Oil.
Super Sleek Blowout Perfector contains Ojon oil, natural Azurite and plant keratin along with other reparative oils. Depending on the length of your hair, apply one or two 5p coin sized amoutns of the cream over your tresses before blow drying.
Azurite aids the loosening of the curved keratin bonds in your hair making them supple and flexible and easier to straighten. The Ojon oil is heat activated and helps to build up hair’s natural resistance to future damage.
For me, the Rare Blend Oil is the hero product. It contains seven different oils which help to repair severe damage, hydrate, tame frizz, add shine and protect against damage caused by heat styling.
The oil has been designed especially for coarse, dehydrated and severely damaged hair and even though my hair isn’t necessarily as bad as that, I know afro hair is more susceptible to damage so was happy to use something that would give extra protection.
To use, simply shake to mix the oils, warm a few drops in your hands and apply before using heat on your hair. I used two drops before blow drying (applied after the Super Sleek Blowout Perfector), two drops prior to going over my hair with irons and one drop when I had finished straightening, just to give that extra shine.
My hair was left straight but not flat, nice and swishy and very, very soft. These are two products I will definitely be incorporating into my hair care routine.
