Every week, I list new beauty products that have come my way and share what I consider to be a good buy.
Benefit Peek A Bright Eyes – £24.50
When I first saw the photos for this product I wasn’t sure they would work on brown skin. I double checked with the PR who assured me they would but I was still doubtful. When I received my sample and opened it I still wasn’t convinced but after trying it out I can happily say that the colours compliment my skin tone beautifully.
I love Benefit for including a handy application guide with their palettes so even the most make up challenged can learn how to put the product on properly. Peek A Bright Eyes really does live up to its name, my eyes looked bigger and brighter and even behind my glasses I felt they still stood out. The colours aren’t too loud so you can wear them to work or for a general day look. For evening I would apply with a heavier hand and slick on an extra coat of mascara.
Tara Smith Vegan Hair Care Range
If you were walking by M&S in Marble Arch last Thursday, you might have seen Rosario Dawson and her hairdresser Tara Smith faux-styling the hair of model and socialite Tolula Adeyemi in the store windows.
They were there to launch the new Tara Smith Vegan Hair Care range in the new M&S Your Beauty department. Tara’s products are made with natural, certified organic ingredients and are all sulphate free and vegan approved. The range has the strap line ‘tested on film stars not animals’ as Tara’s celebrity clientele (Rosario Dawson, Demi Moore, Keifer Sutherland, Marisa Tomei, Natalie Imbruglia and Anna Friel) have all helped in the development of her cruelty-free range.
I think it’s perfect for those of us that want to treat our hair more holistically.
Prices start at £5 for 100ml of shampoo.
